I was fairly disappointed when I woke back up at my own house.  I was even more disappointed when Ryan wasn’t there.  He…I just…Gahh!!  Control your emotions, women!!

You just…You just might love him.

                What?  I mentally yelled.  Impossible.

Completely possible!  His looks, his charms, his smell, his smoothness, his loving and caring gestures—who wouldn’t??

No.  Something hit me.  It’s happening again, isn’t it?!

I got up too fast, but even through my dizziness, I kept walking.  I walked straight out my front door and knocked hard on Trevor’s.  Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang—

“Oh, how did I know it was you?”  Trevor smirked.  I made no hesitation to step right up to him and hugged him around the waist.  He returned it gently.  “What’s wrong?”

“I need my therapist.”  I said muffled into his shirt.  He guided me into his home, which is a dump.  He doesn’t clean like Ryan.  Or Ryan’s anonymous maid.  I sat in my favorite chair and snuggled back into it.

“Shoot.”  Trevor got straight to the point.

                “I think it’s just a joke.”

                “A joke?”

He didn’t sound like he was taking this seriously.  “Ryan.  I think this is just another thing to get back at me with.  He’s ruining my life again.”

“Lauren…”  He paused.  “Mates aren’t something to be taken lightly.  We risk and devote our lives for them…would someone really go that far?”

                I thought myself.  “But—“

“There’s no real buts to this.  What’s he going to do?  Mark you and then be like Haha!  JK, it was just a joke?  Get a hormone check, Lauren, because there’s no turning back from there.”  He pointed at me with a smile.  “You’re trying to find excuses, because you like him!”

                “Hormone check?”  I repeated.

“Yup.  You feel all out of whack, don’t you?”  I nodded to his statement.  “It’s because you too haven’t—“

“Whoa, whoa, no!  BLA, BLA, BLA, CAN’T HEAR YOU!”  I covered my ears and started to rock silently.  Trevor started laughing.  “It’s not funny!”  I snapped.

                “There’s….there’s more I haven’t told you…more I can’t.”  I stuttered.

“Why?  Is someone threatening you?  Are you in any sort of danger?”  He pressed.

“No.”  I said emotionless.  “I can’t say more.”

With that, I left his apartment and tried not to breakdown.  Instead of going for my room, I turned a corner for the snack machine.  Some cookies sound great—

“Ompf!”  I yelped slightly as I collided with someone on the sharp turn and fell on my butt.  I looked up to a guy I’ve never seen before; tall, blonde hair.  Kind of creepy.  He frowned.

“I’m sorry!  I didn’t see where I was going.”  He grabbed my hand and pulled me up.  He took a second to gaze at my hand before dropping it and smiling.  “I’m Kyle.  I live here.  Do you?  Do you go to the high school?”

Slow down speedy!  This guy was too fast!  Plus I’m not getting a good vibe off him.

“Hi, I’m Lauren.”  I settled with.  “I’m kind of in a hurry, sorry I can’t really talk.”  I walked past him.  He caught up with my quickly.

“Aww, you sure?  Do you need a ride?”

                “No—“

                “I’d be no problem—“

“Leave me the fuck alone!”  I finally shouted and ran away.  Here I am; I coward who runs away from an overly clingy stranger.  I started my Mustang with the keys I carry 12/4 (thank everything) and sped off.  I sped to the diner I visited my first day here.  I liked the joint.

Sooner than I thought I was making a pleasant conversation with my server and she refilled my milkshake.  I wanted a job here so bad.

“Hey, best friend!”  Some squeaky, high pitched voice called from beside me.  I clutched my ear from the sound and glared at the person.  Not who I expected.  Some girl from my class…wasn’t she the one who said that Ryan was her’s?

“Hi.”  I said emotionlessly.  I wasn’t in the mood for her.

Smiling awkwardly, she suddenly hisses, “What did I say when I told you to stay away from my man?!”

I chuckled.  “Oh, you mean Ryan?  That’s not my fault.  He just won’t keep his paws off me.”  I said to specifically piss her off.  It worked.

“Don’t talk to him or I will exile you once I become Luna!”  She threatened.

“Ooo…I’m shaking!”  I took the last bit of my milkshake like a shot and threw a ten on the table.  “Now if you don’t mind, I have a booty call with a certain Alpha.”

Sliding from my chair with a hug smirk, I recalled her face in my mind as I left.  How to describe it?  Priceless.
