It wasn't love at first sight exactly, but it was familiarity. Something like oh, hello, it's you. It's going to be you.

Sky sat on her four-poster bed, knees propped up against her chest as she stared outside the window, watching the dark sky.
"What are you doing?" Nicole asked, rubbing her eyes and looking at the girl.
Sky turned to the brunette. "I have a habit of watching the sunrise."
"Well then, go to the Astronomy tower. Or the Black lake. The view is better." Nicole advised.
"I don't know the route."
"I'll take you."
After some argument, Nicole forcefully pulled a jumper over the blonde's head and quite literally dragged her towards the Black lake. "Tell me this isn't better."
Sky settled onto the grass, watching as the night faded into morning as the sun rose up from the horizon, the rays of the star slowly hitting the two girls. "You're right," Sky whispered. "This is better."
Nicole smiled, sitting next to her. "I can already sense that we're going to be friends. After all, I gave up my sleep to show you a magnificent sunrise."
Sky turned to look at the brunette's excited face upon the prospect of having friends. "Trust me Nicole, you don't want me as your friend. I'm a handful."
"Well, I have two hands." Nicole raised her two hands and chuckled at her joke. Sky gave the girl a look and broke out into a hesitant, yet real smile.
"Sky smiles." The brunette teased. "Alert the media. You know, you should smile more often. You look pretty."
"I don't have many reasons to smile." Sky mumbled but Nicole caught it.
"You have this thing. I can already see that you have these walls around you. Like, iron walls which are unbreakable. But there's also an iron door. So, allow me in, won't you?"
Sky turned back to the sun which was steadily rising. "This is why I don't have friends. They expect you to share every single detail about yourself."
Nicole looked guilty. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be like that."
"Not your fault, its natural. I didn't mean to talk to you like that. I just get snippy."
"You're an intriguing girl, Sky Greene. And I'll be damned if I let you stay in your shell and brood forever." The brunette stated and Sky turned back to her.
"I'd certainly like to see you try to get me out of my so-called 'shell.'"
"I got you out here, didn't I? I'll manage just fine."
"I like your confidence, Nicole Jordan."
High up in the Astronomy tower, Regulus Black sat on the railing, watching as the two girls talked to each other.

Sky was sitting on the Hufflepuff table, a piece of toast in her hand as she sketched in her book. "Blood-sucking vampire? Bit dark, no?"
The blonde turned to see Josh Martin looking over her shoulder and at her drawing. "I'm not all sunshine and roses, in case you haven't noticed yet." She replied, shutting her book.
"I have noticed it alright." He took the seat next to her. "I'll get straight to the point. You and I are the new kids in this year. By this time the other kids will have had five years to make friends. Therefore, we're going to be ostracized. And yes, I learned this word just to talk to you and seem smarter. So, Sky Greene, want to be friends?"
Sky pursed her lips. "Nice speech." She complimented. "I don't think I can commit to being friends. Acquaintances works with you? "
"Totally." Josh nodded. "Thanks. See you around Sky. Wait we're not friends yet. See you around Greene."
"You can call me Sky." The blonde assured him and he nodded, scrambling away. "Hogwarts is weird. Suddenly everyone wants to be my friend." Sky mumbled to herself, swinging her bag over her shoulder and heading to her first class.

Sky sat in her Charms class, awaiting Professor Flitwick. From what Nicole had told her, Professor Flitwick was a small man who was a pretty good teacher.
"Psst! Sky. Sky! "
The blonde turned to see Nicole calling for her. "Yeah?"
"Do you have an extra quill I can borrow?"
Sky nodded, handing her a quill and facing the entrance of the class where Professor Flitwick had entered. "Good morning students! " He said in a squeaky voice. "Welcome to your first Charms class of your fifth year. Today we'll be learning —"
The doors of the class opened and Regulus Black stood there, panting as if he'd run a mile. "Sorry I'm late, sir."
"No matter Mr. Black." Professor Flitwick dismissed. "Take a seat."
Sky's eyes followed Regulus as he sat down next to a fellow Slytherin. The Black's fists were balled and he was looking relatively angry. Nicole looked at what Sky was staring at.
"Regulus Black." She said and Sky turned towards her. "His name is Regulus Black. Weird kid, kind of a loner. Has no friends. I bet you both would get along."
"I know him actually." Sky said coolly as Nicole's eyes widened. "Childhood friends."
"You should talk to him then! " Nicole whispered excitedly. "You could be friends again, or more. Hey, don't look at me like that. Old friends make the best husbands or wives. Its scientifically proven."
"Really?" Sky asked, curious.
"Is that really the point?"
"Miss Jordan and Miss Greene." The two turned sharply back to the front of the class. "If you two are done with you chatting then we should probably get back to class."
"Yes, Professor." The two mumbled, Nicole shooting an apologetic look towards Sky.
Sky looked up and caught the familiar steely grey eyes. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Regulus looked away. When he turned back she quirked her eyebrows as if to say, I win.
Regulus shrugged, turning back to the front, a small smile threatening to make its way onto his face.
