Christmas passed quieter than any other year, although Sky received presents from Nicole, Josh and Sirius. Nicole had given her a sketchbook and recommended that she draw the brunette more often. Josh gave her several packs of ice-cream which were charm to never melt. Sirius had given her vinyl records of popular muggle songs and high-lighted some of his personal favorites. He had good taste, Sky had to admit.
Her aunt Constance had knitted her some mittens and made her loads of treats. The two had sat in their living room and decorated it nicely.
"Here." Sky handed Regulus some Christmas cookies. His house didn't celebrate Christmas in a way that would be too enjoyable seeing Regulus had told her that they would go to balls and galas where they had to act like a snobby pure-blood. "Figured you'd need it."
"Thank you. Is this your present for me?" He asked as he bit into one and noticed that the taste wasn't that great but he didn't say anything.
"Last minute. I baked them. Probably why they taste so doughy. At least I gave you something."
"I bought you something too." Regulus stated and Sky turned to him, curious. He dug into his pocket and pulled out a small box which was neatly wrapped. "Open it."
"I don't want to. Looking at the packing, its so perfect." Sky said sadly, carefully opening the box as to preserve the packaging. She opened the lid of the box and there sat a rectangle glass case. "Ooh, what is this?" She raised it to eye length.
"That's a snowflake." Regulus said matter-of-factly. "They say its from Antarctica, not sure how much of that is true. Its going to last forever. It is preserved so, and I also charmed it in case muggle inventions fail us."
"Oh my God." She looked at the boy with a guilty grin. "That's so sweet. I feel bad about the cookies."
Regulus laughed. "Its okay, I love cookies. Even doughy ones."
"You're only saying the because you don't want to hurt my feelings."
"Maybe." He grinned lightly. "Hey, when is your birthday?"
Sky looked highly offended. "You don't remember my birthday? What sort of friend are you, Reggie? That's it, I declare you the worst friend ever."
Regulus didn't seem fazed. "Alright then Starry eyes, when is my birthday?"
Sky opened her mouth to reply but then realized that she actually had no idea. "Um... I take it back, you aren't the worst friend ever."
Regulus chuckled and she reluctantly joined in. "From what I remember," He started. "Our birthdays are close by."
"Mine is 17th May." The blonde intoned.
"Funny, mine is 16th of May." He said. "Ah, now I remember. When we were turning ten we celebrated our birthdays together. Sirius and I snuck out late at night and we celebrated both our birthday at midnight."
"Oh yeah, how could I forget that?" Sky smiled. "We should do it this year."
"What?"
"You know, meet up in the kitchens at midnight and if the house-elves are kind enough to offer us cake. We could re-create it."
Regulus grinned, nodding. "I'd love nothing more, Starry eyes."

"Take care of yourself, Sky." Constance Pritchett ordered her niece, straightening the girl's cloak. "And I'll see you in the summer."
"Yes, aunt Constance." Sky nodded. "You take of yourself too, okay?"
The woman kissed the blonde's cheek before apparating away. Sky sat in an empty compartment, staring out of the window.
"If it isn't Miss Broody." Nicole stated, opening the door. "C'mon in here Martin, she's here."
"Nice to see you to, Nicky." Sky said sarcastically as the two settled on the seat opposite to hers.
Nicole looked unfazed at the nickname. "You will not believe it but Miranda is so sweet and she's like my older sister now. I never thought that sister-in-laws could be so fun. I thought we were going to bicker all the time."
"Ugh, girl gossipy-talk." Josh groaned.
"Tell me about it." Sky mumbled, tossing her sketchbook into Nicole's lap. "I drew you both. I was bored yesterday so, yeah."
The two looked at the picture in awe. "That's so adorable." Nicole said, rather emotionally. "By the way, Sky, I loved your present. The flower tiara goes perfectly with my bridesmaids dress."
"Wait, you already picked out a bridesmaids dress?" Sky asked, surprised. "Isn't it a little early?"
"Uh — duh! " The brunette said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You can never be too early, sweetheart." Nicole patted her cheek as Sky and Josh exchanged confused glances.
"You sound like my grandma." Josh acknowledged and Sky cracked up.
Nicole scowled. "Take that back Martin, or I will go all badass Hufflepuff on you."
Josh raised his hands in surrender, scared she would skin him alive. "You both will never let me live it down but —" Sky looked at the two in admiration. "I missed you guys."
"Aww! " The two cooed in unison and engulfed her in a hug.
"Okay, I take that back! No physical affection, its a part of our friendship agreement! "
