Real love is always chaotic. You lose control; you lose perspective. You lose the ability to protect yourself. The greater the love, the greater the chaos. It's a given and that's the secret.

After the loss of the Quidditch match against Slytherin had worn off, Sky and Nicole decided to show a bit of seriousness to their studies, which they had managed to avoid for quite some time. So on a Sunday morning the two Hufflepuffs dragged Josh into the library and were overtly determined to accomplish their goal.
"Okay, so what ended in 1493?" Nicole asked, looking into her History of Magic textbook.
Josh and Sky weren't listening as they continued to solve the crossword in the Daily Prophet. "What is this sorcery?" Josh furrowed his eyebrows, confused.
"That's 'remorse.'" Sky dipped her quill in ink and filled the column. Josh looked impressed. "You're smart."
Nicole glared at them and snatched the paper from them. "We're here to study, and that's what we're going to do! "
"Oh, we know everything." Sky said carelessly, trying to get the paper back.
Nicole raised an eyebrow. "Really? Okay, what ended in 1493?"
"1492! " The two answered together and grinned in satisfaction, high-fiving each other. The brunette Hufflepuff rubbed her forehead, deeply disappointed.
Sky picked the newspaper up, flipping to the crossword page. "Chill out Nikki, we got this. Right Josh?"
"Heck yeah!" Josh cheered, and the two got back to their crossword.
Nicole sighed, closing her book. "I need new friends."
"You love us." Sky smiled, brandishing the newspaper towards her friend. "Now help us finish it and we promise to study."
"You and I both know that's not true." Nicole shook her head, giving up to solving the crossword. After the crossword was done, the brunette made sure that all three of them got around to studying which they dutifully did. Sort of.
"Sky, could you get me the Transfiguration book?" Josh asked looking highly irritated as he struggled to find the answer to a question.
Sky turned to him, dropping her quill. "Which one?"
"Uh, the big one."
The blonde narrowed her eyes. "There are sixteen huge Transfiguration books in the next aisle, all of which I will drop on your head if you aren't specific enough."
Josh looked at her, unimpressed. "Ouch, so violent. Uh, it was written by a funny named guy..." The Gryffindor squinted, thinking hard.
"Inigo Imago?" Sky asked and Josh nodded in confirmation. The blonde chuckled. "You're right, that is funny." She stood up and walked to the next aisle to search for the said book which proved to be harder that she had fathomed.
"Looking for this?" She turned to face a grinning Regulus Black who was holding the book in his hand. "Ten points to the eavesdropper." Sky walked up to him to take the book which he held up higher. "Reggie, just hand it over."
"Get it yourself." He held it higher as she jumped up to reach it. "Reggie, honestly, its not funny! Give it here! "
Regulus dodged her hand which came up to smack his arm. "You're so short. And you look quite cute when you're angry."
"Oh yeah? Then I bet I look real adorable right now." Sky huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. Regulus sighed and held out the book to her. She eyed him for a few seconds before trying to snatch it only to have it yanked out of her reach. "Ugh, I hate you so bloody much."
"Nah, you don't." The Slytherin grinned. Sky bit her lip and walked closer to him, kicking his leg and grabbing the book when he became distracted. "Ah-ha! I win! "
Regulus hardly heard her proclaim of her victory as he was far more aware of the closeness between them. He could see the way her eyes looked lighter in the sun than when she was indoors. He could count the number of freckles dusted across her cheeks. He hadn't even known she had freckles.
Sky looked up at him, wondering why he had suddenly quietened down when she stared at him in surprise, acutely aware that they had never been this close. Their noses were nearly touching but she didn't move away and neither did he.
Regulus breathed in, gently tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering at the spot for a second. Sky looked into his grey eyes carefully as she made to speak. "Regulus..."
Sky leaned slightly closer to him when a voice sounded from the other side. "Oi, Sky, did you find the book or must I do that?"
The two jumped away from each other, heavily flustered. "Uh, found it." She called back, looking at her feet. "Um, I have to go, I —"
"— Yeah, yeah." Regulus nodded fervently, clearing his throat. "Er — I have to — Potions homework —"
"Uh-huh, right! " Sky nodded. "So, bye."
Regulus smiled awkwardly, waving at her, cursing to himself as she walked away. Sky walked back to her friends, thinking back as to what happened. They had been cool a few weeks ago in the Quidditch changing room. It hadn't been as awkward when she'd walked in on him shirtless. "You okay?" Nicole asked, eyeing her in concern.
"Never better." Sky answered, still thinking about what had occurred, unaware that Regulus was doing the same.
