A month or so passed by in a flash after the meeting with the royals of the NCL Union, and I had begun to grow quite fond of Gon. He always seemed to be happy, and he always made me want to smile when I saw him.
I was sitting in the study reading one dark rainy September afternoon, sitting in a big chair by a fire place, the warmth of the flames tickled my cheeks. I took a second to pause and take a deep breath, it was so quiet and peaceful in the study, very few members of my family used the miniature library. Therefore, it was one of my safe comfort spots in my little corner of the castle.
I folded the page I was on, and set the book down to look out of the small long window at the tip top of the few book shelves. It was gloomy out, dark grey clouds crowded the sky, almost completly black.
I smiled, but them stopped suddenly, choking up on a breath for a second, a new feeling came to me. I was being watched, I was sure of it. I slowly turned my head back to the book I was holding, as I started standing from the comfy chair.
"Gon? Reilegh? Is that you?"I asked the empty air, awaiting a response. But to my suprise, who answered was not who I expected.
"Killua?" a soft voice asked in a low tone, I froze.
"Alluka?" footsteps came out from behind me, I whipped around to see none other than my dear little sister standing there.
"Alluka..."I whispered, my eyes filled tears, oh how i'd missed her.
"They let me out of my room for the day, says it does me good everyonce in a while, but I don't understand while they lock me up like that for so long it makes me really-"
"Alluka!" I half yelled, running up to her, pulling her into a tight bear hug, "I missed you so much, are you okay? I'm so sorry, so so sorrry," I cried into her shoalder, refusing to let her so much as take a step away from me.
"Don't be sorry, it's my fault, I deserved it, I did kill them afterall, though, I don't remember why or how, its all the same I guess," Alluka said, fiddling with the ends of my hair while I hugged her.
"No, no it's not, I won't let them do that to you ever again, I promise, i'm so sorry you did nothing wrong," tears slid down my face and into Alluka's pale pink and blue play-dress.
"Calm down Kil, i'm alright, shhh its okay don't worry," Alluka whispered into my ear, trying to get me to relax. I was a horrible brother, I should be the one comforting Alluka, not vice-versa.
"Stop it, don't say that," I whispered, pulling her closer, "How long ago did they take you off confinement?"
"Can't really say, there aren't any windows in the playroom, but Killua? Can I ask you a question?" Alluka asked gently.
"Anything you like."
"What did I do this time?"
I froze for a second, I know she didn't remember these episodes, but Alluka had never asked about them before.
"Why?"
"Because I can remember some of what happened." Now that was news.
"What do you remember first, and then I'll tell you," I said, stroking Alluka's soft hair.
"I remember seeing my favorite dress I was wearing covered in blood and then, oh it was horrible this time wasn't it? Because I even screamed when I saw what i'd done to that poor man, and then and then..." Alluka started to sniffle and whispered, "His fingers were scattered across the room Kil, so I stomped on one closest and it broke through the floor I think, that was the last thing I remembered." I could feel Alluka's tears on my cheeks as well as my own. It broke my heart to hear what she had gone through alone, how confused and scared she must have been.
"I am never going to let them lock you up like this ever again, and- and you're starting to remember things, thats a good sign, maybe you're getting better, please," I begged, but to whom I was asking, was unkown.
"Kil, if it happens again, they're going to murder me, I heard the security guards down the hall talking about it, how Father already made the decision," Alluka said, shaking, "Killua I don't want to die, i'm sorry, I want to spend my life with you forever because you are the only person that listens, i'm sorry i'm sorry." Alluka was crying to the point of hystarics now.
Kill her? Kill Alluka? I've always know that was a possiblity, but never one that I thought would actually happen.
"If anyone tries to hurt you, I promise to you that I will protect you, it's not even you're fault, you can't even help it, it's just crazy, besides, ninety percent of the things guards say are untrue, I bet it was a rumor or something, please calm down it's gonna be alright," I could feel Alluka stop shaking as much, just sobbing softy to herself.
"I don-don't wanna die yet, I want to stay w-with you forever," She muttered over and over again.
I could only hug her, and tell her that everything was going to be okay. I hated seeing my little sister this way, she was only eleven... just a little kid.
The study door opened with a loud creak, I heard footsteps behind me.
"Young Master Alluka, we need you to come with us," Said a firm female voice from behind me. I let Alluka go and turned around, a woman in a butler uniform and two other male gaurds stood beside her.
"Who are you?" I demanded, grabbing Alluka's hand.
"I'm Alluka's personal butler, Yvtte, you must be young Prince Zoldyck, pleasure to meet you, come along Alluka, your Father has requested a private meeting with you," Yvette said politely.
A meeting? My father rarely talked to anyone around this place, but yet again, Alluka was Alluka.
"But I don't want to go," Alluka sniffled, wiping her eyes with the droopy sleeves of her dress.
"I understand, but I am only following direct orders, you don't seem to understand the assignment, come now."
"She said she doesn't want to go," I interuptted, taking a step tward this strange lady in an attempt to shield Alluka.
"Pardon me, Prince Killua Sir, but this does not concern you, let's go Alluka," Yvtte forcefully reached past me, and grabbed Allukas tiny wrist, and dragged her to the door.
"Alluka!'' I reached out for her, missing her by a few inches.
"Killua no!" Alluka screamed as she was taken out of the room. I tried to go after her, but the two guards that came in with Yvtte stood in the way of the door.
"I'm afraid we cannot let you follow Young Master Alluka, but Sir Reilegh and Sir Gon will be here shortly to retrieve you for your lessons," One of the guards said, closing the door on me, and standing outside, locking me in.
God only knows what could happen to Alluka when she was with Father, but more than likely it was something negitive.
No no no no! I thought, I can't let this happen!
So I did what any person would do iof someone they loved.
I screamed.
"ALLUKA NO!" I pounded on the door, "LET ME SEE MY SISTER, PLEASE SHE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG!"
No response.
"PLEASE...please, please," I was crying again, my voice faded to a whisper.
"Dammit Alluka, stay strong," I punched the door one last time really hard, and slid down the door.
Why did Alluka have to be this way?
