"You've improved since I've been gone, Malia," Seokjin said fondly, taking a large gulp of water.

The girl to which his compliment was directed toward smiled gently, her body too tired to convey the excitement that she felt.

Seokjin and Malia had just finished their first training session since Dr. Taehyung had given him the go-ahead to be back on his feet and well enough to work again. Malia felt a warmth in her chest as she gave her trainer a short but meaningful hug; it was the kind of warmth, she recognized, that she had felt for her father once upon a time.

Seokjin and the rest of the boys, she had realised, had become a sort of family to her. She felt like she finally belonged.

In the corner of the room sat Taehyung as well, posed with the job to monitor his Hyung's condition as he worked.

If Taehyung was being honest, he knew that Seokjin was and would be okay. It was Malia he was worried about.

Ever since he and Jungkook had been drawn to the daunting conclusion that they were both somehow Malia's soulmates, Taehyung couldn't bare the thought of letting Malia out of his sight. He felt protective but most importantly afraid.

Afraid that if he left her side for even a second, his younger brother would swoop in and take the amethyst-eyed girl away from him.

He sounded crazy; he felt it too.

"Tae? How did I do?" Seokjin asked curiously, after he and Malia caught their breaths. "Am I fully recovered?"

"Oh, yes," Taehyung stammered when he noticed Malia smile at him. "You are in perfect shape, Hyung."

Seokjin nodded.

"So, you're going to be back for our next session?"

Taehyung stole a look at Malia before closing his notebook shut. He even forgot he was supposed to at least pretend to be taking notes on Seokjin's performance.

"No, I don't think that's necessary. Plus I've got other stuff to take care of."

"Like what?" Malia asked curiously.

"Well, I was supposed to do some paperwork concerning the members. I have to update their hospital and health documents; just in case something like Seokjin's incident were to happen again."

"Do you need some help?" Malia offered sweetly.

"Y-Yes, I would. That would be so helpful, actually."

"Great! I was supposed to help Jungkook design his newest tattoo but Namjoon called him in today for work."

Jungkook.

Taehyung clenched his jaw.

"What work?"

"Namjoon and Yoongi are meeting up with an old associate of ours today; the night of the ball is closer than we think and honestly, we need all the help me can get." Seokjin informed, a sense of reality dawning over the air in the room.
