"Common Sense"
The Kitchen

//

Besides his bedroom, Jungkook had to admit that their large, marbled kitchen was his favourite room in the house. It was a common area, a place where everyone could come together and indulge in conversations that didn't have to be as serious as the ones that belonged to the dining table.

The kitchen, strangely enough, was where Jungkook had invited his small hyung - Jimin - to talk about an issue that had been plaguing him for what felt like forever. His chest felt tight as he looked to his hyung on the other side of the kitchen island.

Jimin was an image of excellence, even Jungkook had to admit, as he casually leaned against the island. His hair was now a bright pink, a complete contrast to the all-black outfit that hugged his body. He bit habitually on his bottom lip as his younger friend visibly shuddered.

Jungkook needed Jimin's help.

Desperately.

"So, let me get this straight," Jimin spoke as he digested what Jungkook had just explained. "Malia gives you butterflies and now you want me to help steal her journal so that you can have clarity on your situation?"

Jungkook nodded vigorously, almost as if he was a small child.

Jimin smiled and couldn't help the joyful giggle that involuntarily travelled from deep in his chest and out of his mouth.

"Are we in sixth grade? If you like her, man, just tell her. You don't need to steal her journal."

Jimin didn't understand. This was more than simply liking the girl.

It felt heavier to Jungkook. The weight of his emotions felt like they had to be more than just having a crush. He had liked girls before, kissed two or three, but never in his life had it felt like this.

Jimin stopped giggling when he noticed the serious look on his younger friend's face. He pulled himself off of the island and stood up straight.

"Jungkookie, is there something more that you're not telling me? You know that Malia has a soulmate, right?"

Jungkook unknowingly flinched at the mention of the word soulmate. Jimin noticed, however, but said nothing.

"I know," was all Jungkook said. "I'm not hiding anything, I just really need that journal and I don't know how I'm going to get it without your help."

Jimin nodded, silently agreeing to assisting in Jungkook's mission.

"She never leaves her room unless she comes down to train with me or to eat. I can't just ask to see the journal, it's too personal."

"So stealing is better?" Jimin snorted.

Jungkook gave him a dirty look before proceeding.

"While I'm down in the training room with her, I need you to be up in her room and looking for the journal."

"This is a terrible plan, Jungkookie! You don't even know where she has the journal hidden? Did you even do your research?"
