“Wildflower”
Confined Study//
A field of bushes filled up the expanse of a large, open plot of land. The bright, warm sun shone brightly above her head, as a slight warm breeze sifted through her dark hair. The warm breeze swept a lovely fragrance all around Malia's stagnant frame and it ran through her nostrils. The smell, though overwhelming, was a pleasant one.
The amethyst-eyed young lady had been standing in a field of bright yellow flowers that she could appreciate for their beauty. They danced effortlessly in the spring-like atmosphere and as she gently kneeled down to place a soft caress on a petal, a sudden urge to look up far beyond her arose.
There, at the great end of the field, was a young man. He was wearing what looked to be a simple button up shirt, slim fitting pants and a pair of shoes whose brand she could not recognize. His face was obviously positioned to be looking in Malia's direction, but the shade from a nearby tree made it harder to define his features.
It was him. Her soulmate. Her unknowing love. A warm but powerful feeling filled the amethyst-eyed girl's chest.
Malia rose from her position by the fragile flower and stood tall on her two feet. As she took her first step forward, she looked down at her appearance for the first time.
Malia was barefoot but she could not help but recognize the soft, silk fabric that flowed down her body. The silky dress gracefully ran from a long train behind her, to a flowly, slim-fitted cut that blossomed up her petite form in a yellow fabric, as if it were one of the flowers encircling her.
She looked up once more at the nameless figure and needed no more than a nod from him to gather as much of her elegant dress in her hands and begin her fast-walk towards him. The soil below her feet was rich with moisture and it's earthy smell fueled each step that she took until it became a light jog.
Behind Malia, each flower she passed; each flower that was honoured enough to be blooming in the same ground she trampled on, turned from yellow to red. The domino effect piled on and on around the unknowing girl that ran towards the most familiar thing she knew that she had – her soulmate.
By the time Malia had broken into a full-blown sprint and she was closer and closer to her boy, she could finally make out a unique characteristic in him that she could not have before. Up his right arm, golden ink glowed in patterns and words that she could not decipher but was glad were there. They made him real and that much more closer to her.
In almost an instant, with his face still a shadowy image, Malia did not give a damn as she leapt into his arms. The fabric of her dress gracefully flowed from her arms and to the ground like water, as she held tightly on the boy of her dreams.
She felt him inhale and exhale, his heart beat rise and the gentle kiss from his lips onto her neck. She felt at home.
"It's you? It's really you?" Malia whispered, trying to fit as much of him between her small arms. She wanted all of him and she wanted him all at once.
He nodded and that was enough.
"How do I find you? Who are you?"
