"Line Of Defense Pt. II"
The Land of Realisation

//

[a few days later]

Jungkook did not feel the same.

After acquiring the sought-after Dream Journal, a feeling of excitement and anticipation ran through the veins of the young man. He knew something important would come from reading the journal's contents.

But he did not think that it would feel like this; like he had a weight of an entire house on his shoulders.

And in a way, he did.

Once the realisation that he was indeed Malia Kim's soulmate had sunk in, the undeniable feeling of fear did not hesitate to follow.

Jungkook was afraid. He did not know what to do or even who to confide in.

How would he tell Malia?

The pressure was killing him and causing him to suffer from a severe case of insomnia. The thought of his soulmate being only two doors down from him was enough to almost drive him insane.

Were they expected to be together now?

Jungkook never had a serious girlfriend in his life and it was never a priority for him. He was still so young, as he saw it. But being Malia's apparent soulmate was a responsibility that he knew he could not screw up.

A part of him always knew.

From the moment they locked eyes while executing the great escape on that dark night, Jungkook knew that something about the amethyst eyed beauty was so undeniably right. Like he could look into the purple pools of her eyes and almost imagine a better life for them both. One where murder and crime were not the center of their lives.

The imagination is a funny thing, Jungkook found himself scoffing.

But what was real was the way that once Jungkook had turned the final page of the final entry in Malia's journal, something extraordinary happened.

His muscular arm, tattooed all the way up to his shoulder began to illuminate. The once black ink had turned golden, specks of glittery light tracing the lines of permanent ink that took up the skin on Jungkook's arm.

Jungkook was not amethyst, like Malia.

No.

He was golden.

A light knock sounded at Jungkook's door. He jolted at the unexpected noise. Ever since he had safely managed to sneak the Dream Journal back to where Jimin had previously found it, Jungkook still could not shake the feeling of guilt that infiltrated his chest everytime he thought about it.

He was on edge, waiting for Malia to barge into his room and accuse of him a crime that he did indeed commit.

"Come in," Jungkook instructed, sitting up in his bed.
