“Great Escape”
Middle of Nowhere//
The cold, night air was biting and unwelcoming against Lucas's skin. He held tightly onto his gun as he heard faint footsteps approach him from behind – from one of the two cars that tailed theirs. In uniformity, two men, dressed from head to toe in black, walked past him and to the Mercedes in front of them that blocked their path. They stood firmly in front of the sleek, black car – a divide between the four men was evident.
"Lucas Wong and Lee Taeyong," the tallest of the two men spoke against the quiet, tension-filled air.
At the sound of their names, Lucas and Taeyong raised their chins proudly.
It was Lucas that spoke next.
"Of course it was you, Kim Namjoon," he said, gripping onto his gun even tighter than before. "How may we help you?"
Kim Namjoon was not a name that was taken lightly in a world that is rarely ever seen. A world where guns, money and murder were a reality and not just a crime novel read to pass time.
Kim Namjoon was feared, powerful and just ruthless enough to take away anything that you loved or cherished in this life. Anyone that heard the name knew of the reputation and legacy that the young lord had built by the ripe age of twenty-four years old.
Namjoon chuckled lightly at the boy before him. His dimples made deep pools in his cheeks as she put his hands in his coat pockets.
"Give us the girl – she does not belong with you."
"What girl?" Lucas asked, trying to play dumb, but Namjoon knew better.
Lucas visibly gulped, wishing he had been sent with a little more backup. He never allowed his feeling of anxiousness show, however, and kept a sneaky grin on his face.
Namjoon took one, then two, three, four and finally five steps in his direction, fearlessness practically dripping off of the way he walked and talked.
"The girl with amethyst eyes that you kidnapped and are planning to kill," Namjoon said simply, pointing to the car he knew Malia was stashed away in.
"Is it finally ringing a bell, or do we have to ring your neck first?"
Three men stepped out of the Mercedes, joining behind Namjoon and his partner. The cold wind blew at their clothes, but the men never showed the affect it had on them. Instead, they stood in a formation, ready to finish what they had started.
Namjoon took risks.
He made money.
And he always got what he wanted.
As Lucas and Taeyong stood before a superior, they knew all of these facts. They knew of the myth of Kim Namjoon and all that he stood for. They knew that he fought hard for whatever his heart desired.
They knew he would stop at nothing to get the amethyst-eyed girl because judging from the show he put on, he wanted her.
Badly.
Namjoon eyed the posture and body language of the two boys before him. They seemed frightened, unsure of what to do next. At this, he smiled.
