the ties were black, the lies were white

The Potions classroom had been transformed into an unrecognizable room. From the walls to the floor boards, it was replaced with a cream-colored smooth marble, like the inside of a fantasy storybook castle. Golden chandeliers alit with everlasting candles hung from the ceiling, and possibly genuine clouds drifted about the room.
Professor Slughorn welcomed the new arrivals. "Oh wonderful! Our 7th year Gryffindors are here! Let's have a picture with you four!"
James, Lily, Celeste and Sirius hooked arms as the photographer hurried for the shot.
"A dance, m'lady?" Sirius whispered to Celeste.
"Why certainly," she whispered in reply, a smile tugging at her lips. With a laugh, he led her to the floor.
Lily locked eyes with Severus and glanced away at once. A look of pain flashed across her face as the memories of her once closest friend resurfaced.
"Dance with me, Evans?" James offered.
"Alright," Lily agreed, still in her distracted state.
Taken off guard, James cleared his head and lead her to the floor where Celeste and Sirius were.
A laugh slipped from Celeste as Sirius twirled her dramatically and caught her in a low dip. From afar, a group of girls glared at her.
The party was long and dull. Celeste wasn't familiar with most of the students there so she mostly stuck with her friends.
Caught in a moment alone, she frolicked by the buffet table that was laden with festive treats. She downed a glass of champagne, feeling it burn her throat.
"Angel," someone suddenly said in her ear.
She stiffened and turned, finding Evan Rosier in her presence. "Evan," she greeted shortly without a smile. As she made to turn away, he caught her arm, refusing to let her move further.
"Our last conversation was cut short, I'm afraid by that halfblood," he started.
Celeste shot a venomous glare and yanked her arm free. With an annoyed huff, she strolled turned away again without sparing a glance back at Evan. She was angry, but as she made to walk away, Evan did not back down.
"Oh no you don't," he growled. He furiously grabbed her arm again and pulled her back so that she fell into his chest. Much to her astonishment, Evan proceeded to snake his arm around her waist.
"Get your hands off of me," she seethed, struggling to escape his hold. His touch was cold and made her skin crawl.
"I think not," he said darkly. "You've been very rude to me. You're spending too much time around blood-traitors and other filth." He harshly held her to him even closer and leaned to whisper into her ear. "I am a wonderful alternative, however. I could offer you... the right things."
Celeste's eyes widen, with both disgust and shock. "How dare you," she hissed. She struggled get again to get away. "Unhand me at once."
He dragged his lips just above her neck, his breath on her skin. "You look foolish, attempting to get away.
"You, are the more foolish one," she snapped. With a last enraged thrash, she broke free and lurched away, whirling around to face him. "And I don't attempt to do anything. I do it."
"Rosier, what do you think you're doing?" a familiar voice said sharply. Sirius glared a look of pure poison at him. He had never been so angry in his life.
Evan looked spitefully at the two before briskly strolled off.
"Are you alright?" Sirius said bitterly.
"I'm fine," Celeste said, glancing down at her arm which now was bright red from Evan's tight grip.
"I'll kill him," Sirius growled.
"No, no, it'll cause a scene," she shook her head quickly, causing her dangling earrings to sway fiercely. "Besides, I'd like to handle it myself."
