can you see right through me?

Celeste slammed Olivia against the brick wall, furious tears stinging in her eyes. They were in a shadowy, secluded alley somewhere in Hogsmeade. Nobody would be out at this hour and it was the first place Celeste had thought of. She increased her grip, tightly pressing Olivia against the wall.

Celeste understood now.

She remembered it all. The memories slashed against her mind cruel and clear.

"Please―"

"Why the hell did you do that?" Celeste shouted, blood roaring through her head. She was enraged. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Olivia gasped, "You wouldn't understand―"

"Then enlighten me," Celeste growled. She pressed her wand against Olivia's throat with her left hand, her right still pushing the girl down. "What exactly did you do to me that night, Dolos?"

"It was just a few drops of fatigue infusion!" Olivia protested. The terror on her face was so expressive that Celeste nearly laughed. Clearly, she hadn't thought the whole attack through.

"Right," Celeste seethed. "It was just a potion that knocked me unconscious that entire night. I suppose it was also just a few drops of blood dripping down my face."

Olivia shook her head weakly. "I'm sorry, Celeste. I'm sorry I cut you, okay? I ― I didn't know what I was thinking."

"You weren't thinking," Celeste said hoarsely. "When you blew up the windows and slashed my face? My wrist?" She stared at the blonde in disbelief.

"Just―" she stammered. Olivia swallowed and looked away. "Just let me explain."

Breathing heavily, Celeste released her grip on the girl. Her wand stayed in her hand, ready this time. "Fatigue infusion," she repeated. "If it was only fatigue infusion then why was my memory wiped?"

Olivia's eyes glazed. "I tried to wipe them with a charm. And the dose of potion was strong."

"But my memories are back now," Celeste countered. "How?"

"I've never been good at memory-modifying charms," Olivia murmured. "Failed it during the Auror entrance exams. I think... I think they were triggered back, somehow. Like how pressing a scar might lead to the source again. I feared it would happen."
