Celeste fumbled with the letter as she sent it off with Judith, messily tying the twine to her owl's talons. Frustration and hurt clouded her mind as she tried to sleep.
She had known Sirius for the longest time, and knew his temper well. Ordinarily, Sirius raged and broke things. Then he would apologize in his own way. But this time was like no other. This one had far hurt more, and broken too much. If he tried to apologize, it wouldn't matter.
There was a part of her that truly believed he had liked her, not just as forced friends. It hurt more now, because she had felt that way too.
After an hour of tossing and turning in her sleep, Celeste finally stormed out the tower.
Anxiety and fear tore through her, plaguing her every thought as she walked as quickly as she could to the Astronomy Tower. She shivered with each step, wishing that she had brought a thicker coat.
Celeste did not arrive at her destination.
There must have been two people. Two arms went harshly around her waist and arms, restraining her from running away. Another hand went over her mouth to keep her from screaming, and they blindfolded her with a quick charm.
Terrified, Celeste tried to bite and thrash, and they only held harder.
And then they were dragging her away.
A door slammed shut, with the mutter of another charm.
Reasons why this was happening flashed through her brain as she panicked and panicked. Maybe if she stopped wearing dresses it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if she stopped wearing so much makeup it wouldn't have happened. But it happened anyway. There was no difference. Anyone who had endured such would tell you so.
Celeste screamed for help, managing to thrash away from their hands for a split second.
"Bitch," one of them hissed.
It was a voice that she knew all too well. Evan Rosier.
A strangled cry escaped from her throat. Silent tears poured down her face as she felt herself being tied to a chair.
