what a shame she's fucked in the head

It appeared that nobody knew Celeste Malfoy how she truly was. People only knew her as how she wanted them to knew her. That made her beloved and eerily terrifying.

But everything changed.

In her state of extreme vulnerability, she let everything in, and everything out. She was a house with her doors flung wide open and her windows all stained and shattered. She rolled her eyes and laughed loudly, forsaking any of her proper manners and etiquette. She was easily angered and easily good-natured.

Her friends were utterly lost, at how overnight she transformed into a different person. They still stayed friends with her, but it made Celeste feel guilty. Guilty that they didn't know.

So she decided to confess to the girls what happened, who had done it, and how she had cut things off with Sirius.

They didn't treat her too delicately ― something she liked. None of them touched her ― something else that she liked. And they let her cry.

Remus knew that something was wrong, but he didn't pry. Meanwhile, his friends were completely oblivious. Sirius was downright avoiding her like the plague. James and Peter went on like normal.

Sirius couldn't avoid Celeste at meal times, so he sat farthest from her in their group of friends. He hated her. He hated the way how she acted made everyone roar with laughter. He hated how she rolled her eyes as though she was above everyone. How had he been so blindly drawn towards her? And he felt strange whenever he was around her now. Especially after he caught Rosier on her that night.

He had stunned the two Slytherins and took her to the hospital wing, then dragged the two off to McGonagall. Professor McGonagall. What happened to her had nothing to do with himself.

"What happened to you and Celeste?" James bluntly asked Sirius that night in their dorm.

"We're not talking," shrugged Sirius.

"Why not?" said Remus, glancing up from his book.

He shrugged again. "She turned out to be different than I thought."

James frowned. "Alright. Are you all going home over Christmas?"

It was probably a terrible thing to do, but Celeste was out of her dorm again. She was really going to the Astronomy Tower tonight.
