James Potter paced across Sirius' living room, his hands frustratingly running through his hair. "Oh god, I think I'm gonna be sick."

Celeste and Sirius sat together on the couch, watching him in half amusement and half concern. Celeste sighed, crossing her arms as she leaned closer to Sirius. "James, it's going to be fine."

"But will it?" he stressed, stopping his pacing. He turned towards her, his face lighting up with an idea. "Celeste! You're a girl."

Celeste eyed him. "Well spotted!" she said enthusiastically.

"What if I practiced on you?" James excitedly said.

Sirius choked. "Absolutely not!" he rejected. "Look, Prongs. Just ask Evans and get over with it! She's not going to say no!"

"Yes, but she has the option to say no and that freaks me out!" James cried.

"You got a thousand lilies planted in your garden for her," Celeste deadpanned. "I will personally yell at her if she says no."

James exhaled, wringing his hands around his neck. "Right," he said, still unconvinced. "Maybe I'm just overthinking this all. Maybe she'll laugh in my face and call me a toe rag and then―"

"James," Sirius groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "It's going to be fine! Ask the girl to marry you already!"

Breathing deeply, James nodded nervously. Celeste smiled wistfully at the sight, feeling a pang of regret and longing in her chest. Her heart ached for James and Lily. Ever since she'd known the pair, there had always been a sense of destiny and fate woven between them. After all this time, their souls were at last going to be sealed.

James patted his pockets, making sure the ring box was secured. "Well," he said with a half-hopeful and half-determined smile. "Wish me luck."

The pair rose from the couch and wrapped a tight hug around James. Celeste said excitedly, "Good luck. Let us know how it went, will you?"

"You'll be the first," he promised. With the wave of his mahogany wand, he apparated away.

Celeste smiled through her pain as Sirius wrapped an arm around her waist. She knew it was meant to be comforting, but it somehow made it even worse. "I'm having tea with Alice later," she said lightly. "I'll have to go home and change."

"Now?" Sirius frowned. "You barely just got here."

She kissed him, trying to look reassuring. "Yes, and I'll return as soon as possible."

Sirius let his hand fall from her waist with a tiny sigh. "I love you, darling."

Celeste's face lit up at the words. She smiled, meeting his eyes. "I love you."
