After cleaning and arranging their things, Nayeon and her mother went out to buy groceries.
"Isn't these a bit much?" Nayeon asked, referring to the groceries.
"Is it? I figured we need this much since you're a growing girl." Her mother answered.
They were walking back home when Nayeon asked her mother, "Eomma, are you happy now?"
Her mother smiled, "Of course I am. Very."
"I see. That's good then" she said while smiling."Why wouldn't I? I have you. Your new appa. And of course your new little sister. I'm happy to be surrounded by you three." her mother said.
What did she just say? My new little sister? I have a little sister!?
Confusion was visible on Nayeon's face. Her mother noticed it and laughed as she forgot to tell Nayeon that her new appa had a daughter. How can she forget that? Jeez eomma!
"Oh god! Did I forget to tell you? I'm so sorry sweetie. Well, starting today, you have a new little sister!"
After what her mother said, the door behind Nayeon opened, causing her to flinch. Nayeon slowly turned around, eyes widened when she finally saw who was behind her. Their eyes met. None of them looked away. None of them moved. Until Miss Student Council President spoke.
"I'm home." she said. That's when Nayeon came back to her senses. She stepped back, only to crash herself on the shoe rack behind her.
"Argh! Ouch! Ow! That shit hurts! Fuck! W-why on earth are you here!?"
"Nice to meet you. I'm Yoo Changjoon's daughter. My name is Yoo Jeongyeon. I'll be in your care starting today, eomma ." Jeongyeon said, bowing politely towards her new mother.
"N-no! No! She's my eomma! Why are you calling he-"
"Oh gosh, you don't need to be so formal! We're a family already, Jeongyeon-ah!" Her- no- their mother said.
Nayeon, eyes and mouth still wide open, just stood there witnessing the interaction between her mother and Miss Student Council President aka Jeongyeon.
"You should be nice to her, Nayeon-ah."
~~~~
"Have you been doing student council work this whole time, Jeongyeon-ah?"
"Yes, eomma. It's always like this."
"That's so noble of you. I bet you're hungry, right? Tonight, I went all out for you, Jeongyeon-ah!"
"I'm looking forward to it, eomma."
Jeongyeon and their mother were talking in the dining table while Nayeon was cooking their dinner. She insisted to cook to avoid awkward interactions with her little sister. She served their dinner and proceeded to sit beside her mother but the empty seat was transferred beside Jeongyeon. She had no choice but to sit beside her.
Clever old lady. And where did the other chair go? I thought there were four chairs here?
"Nayeon will be your unnie since she's more than a year older than you, that makes you her little sister, Jeongyeon-ah." their mother happily stated.
"Yes, eomma." She plainly answered. Nayeon was just not having it. She positioned herself to avoid touching Jeongyeon, since their table was small and narrow, when her mom noticed it and asked her, "Why are you moving away from Jeongyeon, Nayeon-ah? Aren't you happy to have such a cute and pretty little sister?"
"H-huh? N-no! I mean..." Nayeon accidentally looked at Jeongyeon's direction. Jeongyeon was holding a small knife on her left hand and a fork on her right hand while lifting them up in the table attempting to cut the meat but paused when Nayeon looked at her. She looked at Nayeon and Nayeon looked away. Fuck! She's glaring. She's fucking glaring at me!
