The Mind Electric (A Chester X Parker fic)

Epilogue

"So...do you think this looks good enough?" Chester mutters, taking a step back to observe their work.

"Yeah, I think it looks great, honestly." Parker smiles back.

They were in their backyard, in front of them was a rather large stone that was partly buried in the ground.

It took a lot of effort, but Chester managed to carve a few things into the stone. Around the corners were a few smiley faces, along with a mangled up stick figure pictured to be rolling around on the ground. There was another smile on the bottom right, the person smiling was showing off their sharp teeth, but they somehow still looked rather friendly.

In the middle, there was a small sentence written in the stone:

R.I.P
Narcissus
A very weird friend, but brave
till the end.

Chester would've written more if the stone wasn't so small....but that would have to do for now.

He crouches down to place something on top of the stone, a bouquet of purple and yellow flowers he grouped together.

"I uh...found these growing around our yard..." Chester smiled, taking another step back to gaze at the homemade grave.

It wasn't much, but it was honest work.

"Narc wanted to be remembered just like their ancestors were...but since all of their family is gone, they wanted us to...well..."

A lump caught Chester's throat before he could continue on, he started to sniffle as he gently wiped his eyes.

He was soon brought back into the loving embrace of Parker, only this time he didn't feel like his ribs were being crushed.

"I'm...going to miss them, Parker..." He sobs, gently hugging back.

"I'm going to miss them too, Chester....especially their stupid, obnoxious laugh..." Parker laughed sadly.

He wasn't going to lie, Narc was pretty annoying at first, but that was before they came around to him. Now, it truly felt like he lost someone important.

Someone that practically saved the world.

"Alright, buddy...you ready to sleep through the entire day?" Parker smirks, flopping his back onto the bed.

"I've been ready, dude..." Chester yawned, lazily crawling over to him, then laying his head down on Parker's chest.

"Jeez, you aren't even going to let me have my own space? How rude of you." He huffed, messing up Chester's hair with his hand.

"Oh...I can move over or something..." Chester sleepily mutters.

"No, no...it's fine, I was joking." Parker quickly assures him.

"If you say so...." He yawns again, finally closing his droopy eyes.

"Goodnight, Parker..."
....
"Goodnight, Chester."

What a crazy week it's been for the two of them.
Chester honestly couldn't believe how he wasn't dead yet, while Parker couldn't believe how he hasn't been arrested for helping demons hide bodies!

But in the end, all of their troubles would be solved in many, MANY therapy sessions.

Well, not really....

They both agreed to never talk to another human being about the goop monsters, for they don't want anyone else getting hurt in the future.

They eventually got help for the previous shit they've been through with Kacy, though! (Not that it didn't take long enough to even get help in the first place...)

Soon the two of them could finally start recording videos again.

Looking back through the footage, it was obvious that something was clearly up between them. Parker became a lot more loving to Chester on camera....and Chester went from being a constant coward to one-upping various creatures that lived in people's homes.

Yeah, that's right, he sucker punched a demon on camera.
Parker thought that maybe he was getting a bit too brave....but he wasn't going to ruin the vibe while the cameras were still on them.

Later on in time, they started dropping more hints, like when they stay overnight in people's homes, Chester would rest his head relatively closer and closer to Parker's chest, soon actually laying on it.

Of course, fans went crazy over that...but they both decided to just let people connect the dots.

So other than that, not much had been going on in their lives. They were just two dudes making scary videos again....it was like nothing had happened a few weeks ago.

And honestly? That was good enough for them.

In their opinion, they have had enough of weird goop demons for a while.
