Dusk approached slowly, but it was finally time to get tonight over with.

Before Parker could even open Chester's bedroom door, it was already swung open, Narc jumping out of the room.

"HelllooOO!" Narc waves at Parker, who didn't seemed all that amused right now.

"So, how long is it going to take to track down the next monster?" Parker asks with a stone cold expression.

"UhH....I'm nOt sure! We'll have TOOO GO OUTSIDEEE first!" Narc mumbles, swinging their leg back and forth.

"Alright, the shovel is already in the trunk." Parker grits his teeth, walking towards the front door.

Narc just stares at him for a second as he walks out of the house and towards the car.
They shrug to themselves, smiling as they skip towards the front door.

Narc gets in the car, the window was already down for them.
"Gee, guY! Youuu SUREEE KNOW HOWW to get this SHOW ON THE ROAD!" Narc laughs, poking their head out of the window.

"Narc, how long do we have until you turn into an ACTUAL monster?" Parker asks, squeezing onto the steering wheel until his knuckles turned completely white.

Narc looks back at Parker, dumbfounded.
"Huh?"

"Like...when you go fucking crazy and shit." Parker mumbles.

"OhHH! Hmmm, considerinG we're STARTING EARLYYY....I'D SAY...SIX HOURS!" Narc smiles, inhaling the air around them.

Alright, six hours...that's actually longer than Parker expected...they should actually be safe, at least for tonight.

"Okay, let's waste no time then..." Parker huffs, turning the car key.

Oh boy, they ended up driving for an hour...now they had only about four hours to dig up a grave, and another hour to get home...

They didn't stop at a graveyard this time, it was actually just a small forest.

"Alright, Narc...do what you gotta do, and make it quick...we don't have a huge amount of time..." Parker sighs, opening his car door, along with Narc following.

"GotTT IT!!" Narc sings, dashing off into the woods.

"HEY, DON'T GET LOST! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE YOUR SHOVEL!" Parker yells out, watching Narc run behind a nearby tree, sitting down.

(God, at least they didn't go far...) Parker mumbles in his head, popping open the car trunk to retrieve the shovel.

Parker sat down against an old cottonwood tree as he watched Narc dig underneath a small tree sapling that hasn't quite finished growing, obviously.

God, first they're destroying dead people's peaceful slumber and now a plant grown by Mother Nature.

Parker's upset expression slowly turned into a smirk, though. Imagining that it's just Chester trying to bury a sapling of some sort, but failing miserably somehow.

Half of the time he isn't even holding the shovel correctly....how does that even happen?

A small trail of laughter leaves Parker's throat as he witnesses Chester accidentally fall into the hole he just made behind him.

"Pfff! You okay, dude?" Parker laughs louder, standing up to go help Chester out of the hole.

Though his feet do stop moving when he sees Narc's weird smile shining in the dark.

"I'M OKAYYY!" Narc laughs, continuing to dig deeper.

Parker felt a pain strike his chest once he started backing away from the grave.
No matter how hard he tried to imagine Chester actually being here, no matter how desperately he just wanted to watch him do something normal, like burying a sapling....

It wasn't real. None of it was real, and it was no where close to the truth of the situation he was in.

The truth is that he's afraid. Parker is afraid of the actual gravity of this situation.

Another truth is that he's making up fake scenarios in his head to get away from the actual problem at hand.

Which was, to be truthful....
helping out a murderous, monster bloodline just so that the love of his life isn't swept away from him forever.

He needed to think about other things before he goes insane from fear.
.
.
.
.
.
"AlRIGHT! GotttTT THE BONESS!" Narc announces, jumping out from the hole, holding onto the bones like it was a baby.

Parker jolts up from the tree, accidentally hitting his head on a branch.
"Agh...okay..." he huffs, rubbing his head in pain.

Parker unlocks the car, popping back open the trunk so Narc can throw their shovel in.

"Dude....you didn't even bother dusting off the shovel? I just cleaned this car not too long ago..." Parker groans, rolling his eyes.

"Apologies!" Narc chirps, opening the car door to hop back into their seat, then shutting the door rather loudly, as usual.

Parker just sighs, closing the trunk.

When they arrived back home, they had only about twelve minutes left until Narc would start to feel hungry.

The car stops in the driveway, and Narc hops out, dashing to the front door.

Parker didn't want to take any chances with this time stuff...so he just had them make a run for it to the bathroom so Chester could come back without feeling a single hint of pain.

Hopefully throwing up blood constantly didn't hurt him a ton....

Parker locked the car before heading in, making sure nothing was suddenly going to jump out at him.
....
Nope, nothing yet.

He sighs in relief, opening the door....
only to be greeted with Chester laying his head back on the bathroom door, sounding like he's hyperventilating.

"Chester?!" Parker gasps, quickly closing the front door before dashing towards him.

Chester's eyes were only half open when he lifted his head forward.

"Chester, hey, what happened??" Parker asks quickly, trying not to sound panicked.

His head lowers as he points behind him, at the bathroom door.
"Is....something in there? Do I need to call someone?" Parker questions, checking around Chester to see if anything got him.

"Mnn..." Chester groans, using most of his strength to move out of the way.

Parker takes a deep breath before opening the door....
when he did....
....
There was nothing?
Well, the bones were on the ground, but that's about it.

"C-Chester?" Parker looks back at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Toilet." Is all Chester could gasp out without gagging and coughing.

Parker takes a step forward, looking in the toilet....

There was no blood this time...
only black sludge....
