"Are you sure?" I asked-yelled.
"Yes. They are all drunk!!" Cin replied.
"Okay. I'll be there."
-----
Two hours later."I'm here." I chipped as i ran to the living room to see Jace sprawled on the chair sleeping.
"You are late." I heard Cin's voice. I turned to see her with a jug of milk.
"I know. My dad kind off made me late." I said.
"Who is dying?"
I heard that chirpy voice. Mia? In Jonathan's house?
"Mia?" Jonathan said snapping out of his trance.
He recognizes her voice even though he is under the influence of alcohol?
That made me smile a bit.
"Welcome to you too." Cin said.
"The bitch's at it again." Mia said.
The minute her eyes collided with Jonathan's, Jonathan stood up and looked at me.
"I'll be up." He said and walked up.
Ouch.
"I'm so stupid." Mia said, her eyes getting red, and that's not a happy red face, it's an 'I'm about to cry' red face.
"Mia." I said.
"What am I even doing here?" She asked in a tearful voice.
I wrapped my hands round her shoulder and patted her.
"You're gonna be fine." I told her.
"I won't. My life's been dangling on a broken rope on a cliff. And yet I ran here only to deserve this." She yelled.
"Calm down." Cin said.
"I'm out." Mia said pulling away from my embrace.
"Mia......"
"I'm fine. I just need fresh air." Mia said and left.
"Should I......?"
"Iza. Don't." Cin said.
"Let her be for now." She added.
"Okay." I said.
"So are you going to spank that guy or i will?" She asked.
"I will." I replied and walked up.
Jonathan, Jonathan's room. I heard slow sad music and walked to the room. I knocked.
"What is it?" His sharp voice asked. I opened the door and saw him holding a bottle.
"What's that?" I asked him.
"Uhm, hangover drugs?" He asked.
I raised my eyebrows and snapped the bottle away from him.
"Jonathan......."
"God. Don't preach to me, i know it'a bad. It's dangerous to my health. I'm useless and crazy. Thank you." He rapped.
I was silent. I had nothing to say. It pained me. It pained me deep in my soul. Jonathan is that guy that always made the stupid comments, made me laugh, made me smile.
It pained me that I didn't check up on him. He was my friend, and yet, I didn't do my duty. I didn't know much about him, i didn't stay with him.
It pained me that i always read the quote 'the biggest smile has the saddest heart.' And I couldn't see it.
