The Proposal - Pt 2

Y/N squirmed in her bed, small whimpers leaving her lips until she woke up suddenly. Feeling the coldness on her cheeks she touched her face and felt the source. She'd been crying in her sleep. Her pillow was wet beneath her cheeks and she sat upright hoping to shake off the anxiety she was now feeling on top of the deep sadness that had wrapped itself around her heart.

Reaching for her phone she checked the date to be sure. It all seemed so real yet it was merely a dream. The emotions she felt, all the pain she suffered was all in her imagination. To be fair it was deep-rooted in her feelings for him. Feelings that she's kept to herself over the years for fear that he doesn't reciprocate them.

Sliding her feet down to the floor, Y/N was about to get up to get some water when her phone lit up with a message. There was only one person who would be contacting her at five in the morning. Seeing his name on the screen only made her heartbeat a tad faster with excitement.

KOOBEAR: Bad news! I missed my flight. My last meeting ran late and I got stuck in traffic. The plane was taking off by the time I arrived. I got the next flight out but it's not till the morning so so I have to stay here another night. Sorry, bun. I can't wait to see you!!!

Taking a deep breath, Y/N tried to clear her mind. She was a bit discombobulated after waking up in such a distressed state. But now she's fully aware that all of it had been a dream. He hadn't even arrived home from London yet. Which means the girlfriend and more importantly, his engagement never happened. Relief flooded her body and she smiled to herself. She just dodged a bullet but that's no assurance that something like it would never happen in the future. Jungkook has no idea about her feelings for him and he could very well fall in love with someone else. What if by some weird coincidence he met and fell in love with someone else while he was away all these months, exactly like in her dream? What if her dream had been a premonition?

Y/N knew it was up to her to do something about it. She couldn't go on like this because being his best friend wasn't enough for her anymore. She no longer wanted to stand by while he dates other girls. She no longer wanted to hear him talk about his dates afterwards. She wanted to be his date, his forever. And as much as it would kill her to find out he doesn't share the same feelings, she knew it was better to know. Because if she had no chance with him, at least she could finally move on. Perhaps then she can find someone else who would love her equally as she loves him and wants HER to be his forever.

Y/N couldn't go back to sleep after all that so she changed into her workout gear and decided to go for an early morning run to help clear her mind. By the time she returned home an hour later, she was drenched in sweat and her mind was made up. She was going to tell him how she truly felt. Of course she worried about his reaction but she didn't think he would abandon their friendship simply because he didn't reciprocate her feelings. Their friendship had to be worth more than that right? She just needed the courage to confess her feelings. 

After taking a shower, she decided she would make him a home cooked meal for when he arrives. He's always loved her cooking and in the few times he was able to text her, he mentioned how much he missed it. Since he was staying in a hotel these past couple of months, he was forced to eat at either the hotel or restaurants. He didn't know anyone there so there was one to make him a home cooked meal.

On her way to the market she stopped by her usual coffee shop to get coffee and pastry for breakfast. While waiting for them to make her drink she spotted an empty seat by the window and headed there. She was taken aback when the woman who was sitting at the next table over with her laptop glanced up and their eyes met. It's her! The unknown woman smiled and went back to typing on her laptop. She was Jungkook's girlfriend in the dream! Had she seen her here before and that's why she dreamed about her?
