Y/N is on the sand, waves lapping at her feet. Her mind travels to the past, to the day she met him. Since she crossed paths with Jeon Jungkook, her heart has never been nor will it ever be the same.
Y/N was worrying about exams to pay any attention to the weather forecast. The downpour began as class ended. Lacking an umbrella, she waited patiently for the rain to die down standing just inside the exterior doors. Half an hour passed and then an hour, but the rain was relentless. Her phone was out of battery, rendering it useless. Even if she could borrow a phone, she hadn't memorized anyone's number. Honestly, who does that when you have smartphones? But time was running out. The last bus was scheduled to arrive and she had to leave now if she wanted to be on it. She was about to go when someone called out to her.
"Miss, wait! Don't go out there!" A handsome young man her age was descending the stairs and was the only other soul around.
Her eyebrows knit in confusion. "You're talking to me?" She'd never laid eyes on this beautiful stranger before and despite him looking completely harmless, she still felt nervous being alone with him.
"Hi, yes. My name is Jeon Jungkook," introducing himself when he stops at her side. "Do you need a ride somewhere?"
"No, I'm taking the bus." She steps back, slightly wary of this stranger talking to her.
"I noticed you don't have an umbrella. You'll get soaked."
"I have one, it's in my bag." She easily lies, her brows furrowing with concern as he seems to have been watching her.
"Really? Is that why you've been standing here for over a half hour waiting for the rain to stop?"
"How do you know? Were you spying on me?" Her shock was obvious. She clutches her bag tighter and plants her feet on the ground ready to runaway if needed.
"I was sitting up there for nearly an hour grading papers and I couldn't help but notice you." Jungkook points to the tables upstairs which has a clear view of the doors. "Let me give you a ride home." He smiles then adds flirtatiously, "I wouldn't want a pretty lady like you to get drenched."
"Thanks, but I think I'll stick to the bus. I don't know you and my mom taught me not to ride in cars with strangers who spy on you." She teases lightly, her guard is up but slightly weakened by his infectious smile. Her response elicits the cutest chuckle from him which makes her insides flutter.
"Then let me remedy that, Miss Jung Y/N." Jungkook levels her with a stare that makes her blush.
"You know my name too?" Now gripping her bag tightly, ready to swing in case he tries anything. She was an avid reader of true crime novels and she was well aware that the serial killer Ted Bundy was a handsome man that used that to his advantage. Jungkook may be the handsomest boy she's ever met but that doesn't mean he couldn't be a murderer.
Seeing the worry in her pretty eyes, Jungkook reaches into his backpack and pulls out his ID which shows his credentials at the university. He held it out for her to read before saying anything more.
"I'm Professor Kim's teaching assistant for your chem class. I'm usually in his office or the lab which is why you don't see me. But sometimes I come to class and observe. I know you're one of his top students because I'm the one who grades his assignments. Now that you know who I am, allow me to get you home safely and dry. I promise I'm not a criminal."
Suddenly they both spot a familiar figure descending the stairs, waving at them both. "Mr. Jeon and Ms. Jung, you're still here? Please be careful out in this weather lest you get into an accident."
Jungkook replies, "Yes, sir. I was just offering Y/N a ride home but she's insisting on walking to the bus stop without an umbrella." He snitched, knowing how their professor would react.
