William Edward Smith

'Wait, is that Cassandra Crawford?' I thought to myself while admiring the beauty sitting in front of me, she looked very familiar but different, and that charm that she used to have in high school seemed to be faded out. Once I came out of my thoughts, I would see she was deep in her thoughts, still staring at me, probably she was also trying to figure out who I am

As we walked in and I hugged Charlotte, who is like a sister to me.  Once Charlotte and I put out of the hug, she introduced me to a girl called Haley

Charlotte: "hey Ed, this is my best friend, Haley."

William: "it's a pleasure to meet you, Haley; I'm William Smith, by the way."

Haley: " William, it's a pleasure to meet you too."

She said very playfully with so much energy, and before Cassandra could introduce me to the girl I was keen to meet, Daniel dropped the bottle of champagne and the champagne spilt all over Haley's dress. We all turned toward him, and he was smirking shamelessly

Daniel: "my bad, Haley, let me make it up to you by taking you out tonight ?"

Haley rolls her eyes

Haley: "Nice try, Daniel," she says sarcastically

We all started to laugh, and Daniel was making a fake sad face and was trying to make a pout; looking at Daniel, Cassandra began to laugh loudly, and that's when I saw her angelic brown eyes; they were so dazzling and beautiful that I just wanted to look into them forever. My inner soul started to mock me 'don't you remember high school, William? How they all treated you, and she was no better; the thought brought me back to reality, and I saw everyone moving inside.

Charles: "So what plans tonight?"Charles changed the topic

Haley: "Let's go for dinner tonight to celebrate our freedom."

'Celebrating freedom what do they mean' I thought

Charlotte: Yeah, let's go to Bottega Renzini,"

Charles: "Yeah, babe, it's a quiet, peaceful place so we can have a pleasant time,"

Daniel: "Babe, huh."

Daniel winked at Charles, and Charles blushed. Looking at Charles, Cassandra started to laugh heart fully again, and I began to stare into those beautiful eyes

'Could she still be the same kind of girl, then that is mean, bitchy, arrogant and thinks the world revolves around them or has she changed for the good and her boyfriend Ethan, Ethan that asshole ruined my high school life, he along with his friends were the main reason behind my sorrowful high school life. Until they entered my life, I thought At least once I went to high school, I could forget the problems at home and enjoy my life like a normal teenager, but now they used to stop me from doing anything normal by bullying me because they thought they were superior to me as they came to from wealthy families and the power it brings. They were rude, violent and used to think they were the best even though they were utterly useless at completing any task.'

I was pulled back from my thoughts when Daniel started to dance along with Arthur for OPA GANGNAM STYLE, and Charles came stood beside me, laughing and hugging Charlotte. I looked around for Cassandra and Haley, but they were not seen anywhere; that's when I decided I should go home.

William: "I'll take a leave, love birds,"

Charlotte: "No, you are not leaving Ed, we will all go out from here, and it's also been a long time since you visited us, so please stay back."

William: "Nah, I rest for today Char, let's meet some other time," I said with innocent eyes

Charlotte: "No, you are staying", She snapped

William: "Chill, I'll stay back, sis."

Charles: "Char, only you can do that to the powerful William Edward Smith."

Charlotte: "I knew it would work on you," she said, smiling proudly, claiming her victory

William: "Umm, looks like you know me too well, Char, and you seem to be aware of the fact that I would do anything for you, sis."

Charlotte: "aww, that's too sweet William, How can I not know you, Ed? You're like my brother that I never had"

William: "Okay, char, I'll use the guest room to get freshened."

Charles: "Go ahead, man, it's as much your place as ours."

As I walked across the hallway towards the guest room, I was thinking about how I met Charles over a weekend party, the same weekend, he and Charlotte broke up the first and last time, and he was a mess. Daniel was helping him cope up, and I was helping Danny. I still remember how funny that heartbroken drink Charles looked, but I never thought we would get this close and especially for me, who is an introvert, I was shocked that we became buddies, and Charlotte has become the sister I never had. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I could hear a smoothening voice from the adjacent room, and it was non-other than Cassandra. I started to stare at Cassandra and thought about how she has become so free-spirited now, unlike high school, where she was always clinging to Ethan. 'Could she be different, or is this all just an act that she puts up before her true colours come out?'
