"The only thing you need to know is that she is very small and likely going to be small compared to others her age for the rest of her life." The doctor says, gesturing to Sophie who's sleeping soundly in Greyson's arms.
"But she's healthy?" Greyson asks worriedly.
"Yes, yes she's perfectly healthy," the doctor says happily. I glance at Greyson with a smile and he carefully shifts to take my hand in his, keeping Sophie tucked in his other arm.
"Thank you doctor," I say. She nods and turns for the door.
"Your family and friends are here, would you like me to send them in?" I nod, sitting up in the hospital bed with a groan.
"Amore," Greyson says quietly. I look at him in question, "I've been doing a lot of thinking and I want you to start carrying a gun."
"What do you mean?" I ask in confusion.
"Petrov still hasn't been found and I'd feel much better leaving you alone if you had something to protect you," he says, looking me in the eyes.
"Greyson," I say, shaking my head. I was about to reject when I saw the look in his eyes. He glanced down at Sophie then back at me, fear showing clear as day.
"I can show you how to use it," he pleaded.
"I know how to use a gun darling," I said with a duh look. He kept looking straight in my eyes, causing me to sigh. "Fine, but only until Petrov is brought in."
I saw his shoulders visibly sag and he sighed with relief. I smiled at him and reached for his hand. He reaches back, gripping my hand and rubbing the back of it with his thumb.
Just then the door opens and a quiet gasp fills the room. Emi barrels towards me, hugging me tightly but gently at the same time. I don't know how she did it, don't ask me.
Then her eyes go to Greyson and Sophie and she grins so wide.
"Oh my god she's so precious," she whispers, walking towards them. She reaches her arms out and gestures to Sophie, "can I hold her?" She asks softly.
Greyson nods, handing Sophie over to Emi gently. He then comes over to my bed and moves me forward slightly, getting on the bed behind me. Once he's settled against the headboard I lean back, resting my head on his shoulder.
"Her eyes are identical to yours bro," Nico mutters, looking at Sophie then Greyson. I laughed lightly.
"I said the same thing," I said, smiling at them. Soon everyone else came in and took turns holding the baby. After about an hour the doctor came in to do a final check in and surprisingly she said I could get discharged and that we could take Sophie home.
After saying our goodbyes to everyone Greyson drove us home and I just about collapsed in bed after changing into one of his shirts. Greyson put Sophie down in her crib by our bed and changed into basketball shorts before lying down next to me.
"You did amazing," he whispers, kissing my head and pulling me closer to him. I groaned, snuggling into him and closing my eyes. "You brought a beautiful baby into this world."
I chuckle, stroking his chest.
"I couldn't have done it without you," I muttered, smiling towards her crib.
"I love you," he whispers, kissing my head again.
"I love you too," I whisper, kissing his chest.
I don't know what time it was but I woke up to Sophie crying and was about to jump out of bed to get her when I felt an arm wrap around me and stop me.
