The Great Prophecy

Chapter 17

It was maybe night, it was hard to say because in Gandor the sky was always red and all of the monsters were awake. The group looked for a cave or something that they could stay in for the night. Finally, they found a little cave suitable for the four. Tanith was guard that night. Not much happened that night, so for Tanith it was quite an easy night.

The group was finally at the Great Caves. "finally! We are here, wow, even though dark gold is mined from these caves, they do look quite magnificent!" Akoen said.

"You might think that, but I don't!" Keflar said.

"Ah, yes, I need to remember that," Akoen said.

"Now, where do we start looking for Caoalais?" Tanith said.

"Let's split up, me and Tanith go down the entrance to the right, Keflar and Lokiel will go down the entrance to the left," said Akoen.

"Great idea!" said Lokiel and with that the groups went down their assigned entrances.

Lokiel and Keflar found some dark gold and a trail of blood, they were on the right path. They kept going until they found a large room. "Could this be it? Is this Caoalais's lair?" Asked Keflar.

"I think so," said Lokiel. Keflar made a torch and the two looked around the room. They found some skeletons and weapons.

"Has Caoalais turned into a monster?" Asked Keflar.

"Definitely looks like it!" Lokiel replied. They looked around for a bit more but didn't find anything interesting. Finally, they headed back. Halfway through the tunnel, the two heard footsteps coming their way.

"Quick, hide!" Lokiel whispered. The footsteps was maybe a hundred feet ahead of them. Fifty feet. Twenty feet. Finally, the footsteps were right in front of them. What they saw was horrifying. The creature was so bony that it looked like it had no flesh. It was hunched and had slime covering its face, it was disgusting! After the creature left, the duo ran down the tunnel, hoping that thing wasn't chasing them.

"You saw Caoalais's lair and you think you saw him?" asked Akoen.

"Yes! He was disgusting, he has turned into a monster!" exclaimed Keflar.

"Like you," Tanith muttered, hoping no one would hear. Unfortunately everybody did, Akoen and Lokiel started laughing, and Keflar growled and ran after Tanith. Keflar eventually stopped and muttered "Here we are in Gandor in hopes of killing Caoalais, and we are acting like stupid little children!". After that, they decided to make camp in the other tunnel so that Caoalais would not find them.
