My heartbeat quickened as we were walking to the front door of this guys house, it looked in worse shape than Rob's did. The gray siding was slowly falling off of this one story house, the paint was almost completely off of the outside windows, and the lawn doesn't look like it's been touched in well over a year.
I looked over at Rhett who gave me a reassuring look that everything was going to be all right, but I don't believe it right now, for all we know we are farther away from home.
"Knock on the door, Grace." Rob said to me and I slowly turned around to look at him with an unsure look on my face, "Go ahead, Rhett and I will watch from the bottom of the steps."
I gave Rhett a confused look and I watched as his fists clenched up watching me go up the four porch stairs. I took a deep breath and brought my hand up to the door and knocked.
A split second later the door swings open revealing a tall overweight man with a bald head, beard past his neck, in a white tank top and boxers. I jumped at the sight of him and he sent me a toothless grin. "Welcome young lady." He said to me
"H- Hi, sir" I whispered back at him not knowing what to say, frozen in place.
I looked behind me and Rhett had a stern look on his face and standing next to him was Rob with a smile that took up his whole face. "Well, are you going to come in?" the strange man asked me.
I was still frozen in place. "Not without me she isn't." Rhett said from behind me.
"Well, I would assume not. My names Bill, you two will be staying here for quite some time. Might as well call it your new home."
Bill ushered for the three of us to walk in, taking in my surroundings I noticed it was a lot like Rob's place, not much to it besides a mess and torn up furniture. It was a split level house, where when you walked into the front door you could see the stairs leading to the upstairs and the downstairs.
"Your guy's room is in the basement, follow me." Bill said as he walked down the stairs
Rob pushed Rhett and I both to follow him down the stairs. After a few steps down, I turned around and noticed that Rob was following us and he sent me a grin.
Bill turned the corner and unlocked a door and revealed the room we were staying in. It was just as dark as our last one, but this room had a twin sized bed and a bathroom.
"I realized I could trust you guys enough not to run off, not that you would have that option with the door locking from the outside." Bill laughed then continued "You have a bed that you two can fight over and a bathroom. You will get 1 water bottle a day, each and two meals per day. I may have kidnapped you both but I need both of you alive in the end. Trust me Bill and I will both have our fun with the two of you." he grinned at the last statement and I felt the color wash away from my face.
I looked over at Rhett and he noticed and gave me a nod and a slight smile filled with reassurance telling me that everything was going to be okay. I quickly looked down so Rob and Bill couldn't see the heat rising on my cheeks.
"Well, we will be back later." Bill said
And with that Rhett and I were locked in to our small room. Even though we were locked in I had a sense of freedom without the ropes that were tying us down.
