"i was right."

"right about what?" mark said as he packed his things with donghyuck sitting on his bed facing the wall. he was annoyed but sad, and mark could feel the aura from the younger who's nose fumed with annoyance. 

"i guessed in my head that you'll be going to canada." 

"really? well, that's smart of you, hyuckie." the older approached donghyuck with a small smirk on his face, wanting to surprise him with a hug and sneakily went behind. 

"don't hyuckie me." was what donghyuck said with a snap to mark. the ravenette was taken aback by the sudden "rude" words from the younger as he didn't expect it. but instead of snapping back, his shoulder slumped down as his voice soften. 

"are you okay? sleepy?"

"no."

"then... bored?"

"no."

"do you want a hug."

"for fuck's sake just pack your things up."

"but hyuck, i-"

"i'll miss you! okay?!" the sudden loud voice made the whole room silent, though it's just mark and donghyuck that's standing there. mark took a step back as the younger male slapped the mattress harshly. 
"without you i feel so fucking empty i don't even know if i have the will to live like this anymore. 10 days, mark. i know you might think i'm overreacting but i just... i don't want you to leave me again."

with those words, mark quickly pulled the younger into his embrace, tightly. he also didn't want to leave him again, but he had to. and it's not because of work. 

"i'll be back as soon as possible, even before you notice it, alright? we'll hear each other through calls and i'll sing you a song to sleep when we call and we'll tell each other night tales again, hm?" no one does it like mark. all the things he said, donghyuck would miss it so much. so much that he'd probably be a ghost mentally without those things and mark himself. 

"promise?" 

"of course. promise." they intertwined their fingers and smiled widely, pulling into each other's embrace. the two would miss this, especially if it's mark's last day here before he depart to canada as he said. 

and the day finally came that mark left. it was a cold evening in 9 pm when they brought the young man to the airport. it took almost about an hour to arrive there and donghyuck stuck to mark the entire ride. 

"do you think you can send some pictures of the scenery there to uncle johnny?" he asked as mark patted his head softly while singing to the song johnny was playing on the dvd player of the car. mark chuckled. 

"of course, hyuck. anything you want." donghyuck smiled and snuggled closer to the older's chest and hummed in content. they stayed like so for the rest of the ride until it was time to part ways. johnny easily stopped the car at the drop off section of the airport and unlocked the cars before helping mark taking his suitcase from the trunk of his car. donghyuck wanted to get off too but mark stopped him when he was about to open the door to leave. 

"mark?"

"hm?"

"i'll miss you." he said to the older as he felt his chest tighten again. he heard a sigh from mark who approached him again. 

"i'll miss you more, hyuckie. stay safe, alright? eat well and study well. pretend like i'm still there for you and don't be sad. i'll always be here." mark patted donghyuck's chest, "don't forget that." 

"i won't. see you in 10 days mark!" this time, donghyuck decided to bring up the mood and lift up his voice to a cheerful one. he heard mark laughed and felt a ruffle on his head, making his hair messy but cute in mark's eyes. 

"goodbye." he whispered to himself before leaning in and placing his lips on donghyuck's forehead. this was the second time, and donghyuck started to get addicted to it. he tried facing a few degrees up and his lips suddenly met mark's, making him gasp at the soft lips of the older. before he could pull away, mark pulled him in and closed the gap between the two. donghyuck could feel his stomach gurgling as if butterflies were getting mad at him for not letting go. 

"hey mark, your flight is in an hour. do you want me to- oh i'm sorry. did i disturb something?" johnny suddenly jumped into their small love session and destroyed it all which annoyed donghyuck so much he would gladly kick him in his stomach if it weren't for how he is now. meanwhile, mark just pulled away and rubbed his nape in embarrassment. 

"i uh... i don't need anything else so i'll get going and uhm.. here's for you! goodbye!" with those words, mark handed johnny a piece of envelope and sprinted off to the entrance of the airport. donghyuck was just smiling to himself, not knowing that the envelope mark handed johnny was one to break his heart the most.
