"oh my god donghyuck! we have great news!" johnny bursted into donghyuck's room with a big smile on his face but frowned when he saw donghyuck wrapping himself in a burrito with a blanket and soft guitar music playing in the blackground. donghyuck looked angry but sad as well.

of course he would be like so, as mark haven't called him in days when the older promised that they will have a video call session every night. mark broke his first promise, and donghyuck hated that.

"what?" the younger snapped at his uncle but still remained in his position. he heard johnny regaining his chuckles and felt his bed tilting due to the weight difference.

"you have someone who wants to donate their eyes for you." donghyuck suddenly took interest in his uncle's words as he heard about that.
"you know what that means. you can see again, hyuck!" with his lips curving into a smile, johnny pulled him into a big tight and warm hug to let donghyuck know that all of this was real. although he had just lost his sight for a few months, he couldn't help but feel thrilled that he will be able to see again. moreover, he can see mark again when he comes back!

"i can see again." the boy repeated johnny's words softly with the biggest smile on his face.

and just like johnny had said about the eye appointment, donghyuck got ready and followed johnny's lead to his car as they drove off to the hospital for the operation. donghyuck's stomach stirred with excitement as he knew that in a few hours, he'll be able to see the world once again.

"calm down, hyuckie." johnny chuckled at the younger who was restless in the waiting room's seat filled with a small number of people. donghyuck just giggled but didn't try to keep his hands still in its position.

"lee donghyuck?" they heard the name from the nurse and immediately stood up, following the woman who led them to the doctor's office for some consultation.

johnny waited for a few hours outside the operation room, feeling restless but not because he was worried that the operation might not go well. because donghyuck would find out sooner or later that those eyes weren't from a stranger that he told his nephew about.

he battled with his thoughts whether he should tell donghyuck or not. the sooner the better? more like never the better. he didn't want donghyuck to know at all. but he'll find out sooner or later, probably even after he got his sight back, donghyuck might already know it.

taking a sip of his canned coffee that he bought at the small hospital canteen at the lobby, he sighed heavily and looked at the picture of donghyuck and him at the living room of their house. they looked happy, all smiling and cheerful. and there too was mark, standing behind them and photobombing the picture with a peace sign and a funny face.

everything felt like a dream. donghyuck getting his sight back, his work going extremely well, and donghyuck being able to go to school again. all those good things, johnny wanted it happen just in a dream. is it bad?
