Toffee cat

(I dunno even what type of cat constable whiskers is so ima say the cats are toffee)
(Context : you find constable whiskers in an ally not knowing the cat is almonds you pick them up I do not know constable whiskers gender so ima say he's a boy)

Your POV:
I was going home taking the back ally when I saw a cat walking around as if looking for someone, I picked the cat up, it was really fluffy so I started petting it , after a while I realized the cat was a boy, but no matter, he was very soft
I tried looking for a name tag but to no avail, at one point I was considering I should take him home but I felt someone behind me, as I turned around I saw detective almond he looked hurt and low key pissed, it hit me ,this might be his cat I apologized and handed the cat back looking nervous
"Ah! I'm sorry sir! I had no idea this was your cat sir!" I bowed and tried speed walking away but almond pulled me back by my shirt collar "it's ok, you didn't know, thanks for finding him, also just call me almond alright? Now you must be (Y/N) correct?, I'm sure I have the correct name ,I am one of the top detectives!" He showed a small smile as i nodded confirming he had the correct name "yep, it is (Y/N), your cat is very cute by the way, what's his name, almond?"
"Constable whiskers, that's his name, he was a stray but got into our building and Laid down on some old files, eventually we got attached to him" you smiled at the cute story
"Well I've got to go, sure I'll see you around again almond" he looked nervous as he grabbed my cheek quickly giving it a kiss and sprinted off with the cat following behind
I was shocked as I brought my hand to my cheek flustered ,who would've known.
