KAREEM'S POV
I sat in the parking lot outside Diana's building calming my nerves. I was early so I still had a few minutes which was good. It had been a long week anticipating the date and finally it had arrived. I just needed to walk up there and pick her up but for some reason I couldn't move. It was probably because I was scared that picking up Diana for our first date would be the first step to the rest of our lives together. Sure I wanted that and more but it didn't mean I wasn't scared.
It was still too early to know if Diana was the one but still I had a pretty good feeling about it. I looked at my phone and saw that Diana was still sharing her location with me. It made it easier for me to find her apartment. Shaking off the nerves, I got out of my car and locked it behind me.
Over the course of the week we hadn't texted much except for when she asked me what she should wear and when I asked for location. I was hoping we would text and call more once we got through our first date. When I found Diana's apartment I took a deep breath and knocked. I heard shuffling from the other side before the door opened to reveal Diana in all her glory.
She looked amazing in a long sleeved maroon top tucked into a checked white and maroon mini skirt, a maroon blazer over her shoulders and nude heels showing her manicured toenails. Her hair was straightened falling over her shoulders in a straight waterfall.
When she'd asked me what to wear I'd said something semi casual since we weren't going to a five star restaurant but neither was I taking her somewhere cheap. She looked really good making my outfit of black jeans, white sneakers and a white button up look like I hadn't tried to get dressed at all. I had though because I was more of t-shirt than a button up shirt kind of guy.
Once I was done giving her a once over I looked back to meet her eyes looking back at me.
"Hi, you look beautiful."I complimented breaking the ice.
"Thank you, you look good too."She replied.
I knew it was a real compliment because Diana looked like the kind of person who was always honest no matter the situation.
"Ready to go?"I asked.
"Yeah."
Diana reached for her small purse that was on a table next to the door, put it over her shoulder before locking her door and putting her keys in her bag. She lived on the first floor so it didn't take us long to get to the car. I unlocked my car before we even got to it and Diana's eyes widened in surprise.
"Are you low key rich or do you use clients car's?"She asked unashamedly.
"I wouldn't call myself rich and I've never driven a client's car unless they request for a test drive to make sure it's safe. Both the GTO and the Hellcat are mine though."I replied unlocking the door for her.
After she got in I closed it behind her and went around and got in behind the wheel. Diana looked around the car impressed which made me smile. I'd chosen to use the Hellcat instead of the GTO because it was much more comfortable inside.
"I know this is going to be weird but would you mind if I took a selfie and sent it to my brothers, they'll be so jealous."She requested.
I found it cute that she asked because most people just took photos without even asking me.
"Sure, no problem."I replied as I started to drive.
For the next five minutes of so, Diana took multiple photos and sent them to her brothers. She texted with them for a few more minutes before finally putting her phone aside.
