DIANA'S POV
Kareem and I woke up bright and early the next morning packed up all our stuff, had breakfast then checked out of the hotel. My decision to join him on the trip back ahad been final so no matter how many times he tried to talk me out of it I stood my ground. There's no way we were travelling back to Nairobi separately after the time we had spent together at the coast.
We were also an official couple now after Kareem's proposal by the beach which ensured a permanent smile on my face. Kareem Najib was my boyfriend and I could proudly declare that. I had been looking forward to him asking that question for a long time but when he finally asked me I had been lost for words. I finally found them and saying yes had made me the happiest girl in the world. I could now see clearly that Kareem and I were headed in the right direction.
"Do you need anything before we pick up the truck?"Kareem asked as we sat in the taxi towards the harbor.
"Yeah maybe a few snacks for the road."I answered.
"Okay we'll get those."Kareem replied.
It took twenty minutes to get to the harbor and since we got there early we were lucky to avoid the morning traffic. Kareem paid the taxi driver while I got out with our bags.
"Why don't you go into that store and buy everything you want and I'll meet you back out here with the truck. I won't be long."Kareem instructed slapping a few thousand notes into my palm.
He kissed my forehead and before I could protest about the money he had given me he was already gone and walking through the huge gates into the harbor. Kareem always said I was stubborn but he was even more stubborn than I was. I could definitely afford the few snacks I was going to buy but he just had to be himself and give me more money that I needed.
Huffing to myself I left all my luggage at the door before grabbing a basket and starting my shopping. I bought a lot of stuff like soda, cakes, crisps, energy drinks and lots of junk food. The cashier looked at me weird as I was checking out but I didn't mind him, just grabbed my bagged items and left. Kareem texted me that he was going to take ten more minutes so I decided to take that free time to text Salome and Ashton to let them know that we were leaving Mombasa. They had sent me photos of their weekend at the Tree top hotel and it looked like they'd had fun. At the beginning I had been disappointed that Kareem and I hadn't been able to go together but I would gladly trade that all over again for our coast trip.
Speaking of Kareem he was taking longer than I had anticipated. At least it was still early in the morning and even though the sun had already risen, it wasn't too hot. I continued to watch trucks leave the port one after the other until a magnificent white and red Mercedes eighteen wheeler stopped right in front of me. The window rolled down and Kareem's face popped out making me gasp. When he'd told me we'd be riding back in a truck I hadn't expected it to be so big and beautiful.
"Need a ride pretty lady?"Kareem teased with a charming smile.
"I would but I don't think my boyfriend would approve."I replied smiling back.
"Don't worry about that, I'm sure I can handle him."He assured me.
"I don't think you can, he's pretty big."I said biting my cheek to hold in a smile.
"In that case let's hurry and leave before he gets here."Kareem said finally opening the door so I could see in.
"Are you ready to go cupcake?"Kareem asked.
I nodded enthusiastically because the drive had become so much more exciting considering the truck would be driving back in. I handed Kareem our suitcases which he put in the small sleeping compartment behind the seats before he finally held his hand out for me to help me up. It was a pretty high truck which added to the thrill of the whole experience.
