KAREEM'S POV

Since Diana had proposed going to Mombasa with me it took a lot longer to plan a trip for two. I was elated to be taking her with me, I just hoped she would have fun since I was going for business and not pleasure. A shipment of three cars had been ordered from Germany about a month ago. It was was at the port already but the truck driver supposed to deliver it to Nairobi had for some reason gone missing. He'd missed his pick up date thus causing an issue with the port authority. Vihaan was already angry thus why I was personally going to resolve the issue instead of sending someone else.

We'd given the weekend getaway to Salome and her husband Ashton. I had been disappointed that Diana and I couldn't go together but I'd use the time we'd spend at the coast to make up for it.

"I'm almost there, are you ready yet?"I asked Diana over the phone.

"Yeah I'm just leaving my apartment."She replied.

"Okay see you soon."I said cutting the call.

I couldn't use my car since the drive to and from Mombasa was very long so we were using the train to get there and would come back by bus. If I had been going alone I would have flown but Diana wanted the whole road trip experience thus why we were using public transport.

The uber taking us to the train station stopped in front of Diana's apartment and like she'd said she would be she was standing there was a backpack and a suitcase next to her. I got out to hug her as the driver put her suitcase in the trunk.

"Are you ready for this?"I asked opening the backdoor for her.

"Ready as I'll ever be."Diana replied with a smile.

I took my time to admire Diana and her outfit of choice. She was wearing black leggings, a black hoodie, a black leather jacket and white sneakers. Her hair was done in simple corn rows and she didn't have any make up on. She was simply gorgeous.

I was dressed in all black too and simple enough for travel. I was wearing dark jeans, a black T-shirt, a long black trenchcoat and black boots.

"How did shopping with Salome go yesterday?"I asked just to make small talk.

Diana had to go shopping with Salome since she didn't have road trip worthy clothes, her words not mine.

"Good, I got everything I wanted but I could have done without her lamenting that I was leaving her alone for two weeks. She has a husband and a child for crying out loud, how could I be abandoning her?"Diana expressed making me laugh.

"You two are extremely close."I offered.

"Well yeah but I didn't cry when she and Ashton had to go for a three week honeymoon or when she stayed at home for two months after giving birth to Oliver."Diana reasoned.

"You're different people, let her be."

"And you are supposed to be on my side."Diana insisted.

"You're right cupcake, I'm sorry."I apologized kissing her temple.

"Since when am I cupcake?"Diana asked with a smile.

I hadn't even realized that I'd called her that but it felt right so I didn't question it.

"Since you tasted delicious like one."I replied kissing her lips quickly.

Diana laughed and hit my arm lightly but didn't say anything more. She leaned into my side and we sat in silence for the thirty minute drive to the train station. When we got there I paid the uber before Diana and I alighted.
