~All characters be...
Hi guys! A little bit of enlightenment before you start reading:
First of all, I know we agreed on the '1st option', but for some reason, my friggin' notes app didn't save it, so now I've lost exactly a chapter of 1000+ words.
Therefore, I had to create an entirely new topic and chapter, rushed by yours truly.
I'm sooo sorry. I'll try to recover some of the phrases I do remember and try to salvage a bit of what's left. (there is nothing left)
But in the meantime, please enjoy this one-shot. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, I appreciate it <3

Hailey never thought she'd fall for the town's simp, neither did she think he'd ask her out himself. Nonetheless, the two were holding hands, walking down Rosy Street.
They spied through the many windows of quaint little shops, making pit-stops along the way. They'd found a cosy bakery, which smelt of candy and cookies. (Jake and Hailey shared a chocolate-infused croissant, fluffy in all the right spots.
Elliot's mom's flower shop was filled with lavenders, daisies, petunias, hibiscus. But she was famous for her sweet-smelling roses, hence, the name Rosemeadow.
But what most caught Hailey's attention, was the pet shop a few blocks down. She practically ran a marathon, dragging Jake with her once she'd seen the adorable puppies. "I—Hailey, I thought we're—"
"I've GOT to take a look at those golden retrievers!" she squealed, completely ignoring Jake's whines.
Hailey pressed her face to the glass, completely adoring the chubby faces of slobbering poodles. Jake crossed his arms, not sharing the same enthusiasm. "Hailey..." he said pleadingly.
The teal-haired girl pouted, insisting on staying for a while longer. Jake let out a sigh with a crooked smile, nodding his head to the entrance. Hailey leapt towards the door, much to Jake's surprise. She could've been an Olympic athlete by now.
A little bell shook as they opened the glass-panel door. An old man from the counter perked his head up as he'd just been woken up. "Ah! And what are you interested in?" he asked, standing up to greet the couple. The man suddenly caught a glimpse of Jake on the side, wearing an unpleased face. "Oh, I see. Newly-weds looking for the perfect family pet?" he offered.
Jake and Hailey turned crimson, eyeing each other. "Um, no, sir. We're only sixteen..." Hailey chuckled, easing the awkwardness. "My apologies for being so careless". Hailey spun her head to the dog's section, while Jake stood near the counter, pulling his phone from his jeans.
"Aww!" Jake heard. He rose his head to see Hailey carrying a tiny pug, with his tongue stuck out. "He'd beat you any day" Hailey joked, gesturing to the unsuspecting dog. Jake muttered grumpily.
Hailey took notice of his dark expression with his folded arms. She burst out laughing, finally aware. "Are—are you seriously jealous of this lil' guy?" Hailey chortled, propping the puppy closer to her chest.
The man snickered quietly from behind the counter, hiding it with a cough while pretending to arrange boxes. "No..." Jake mumbled pink dust on his cheeks. Hailey trotted back to Jake hugging him with the puppy in between, who seemed to relax in his arms. Jake shifted slightly but started to ease down, returning the embrace. "So, are you interested in little Enzo here?" the man asked, beaming at the bulldog.
Hailey smiled sadly. "I wish... My parents wouldn't allow pets in the house". Enzo's ears flattened as if he understood what she'd said. Jake looked back at the tiny Enzo, pressed against Hailey's arms.
"Maybe I can take care of him" Jake offered. Hailey gaped at him. "Are you sure? A dog is a lot of responsibility and given your carelessness during our rehearsals, I'd think—"
"Haileyyy, trust me. I'll keep Enzo safe and sound" he said, snatching Enzo away from Hailey. "Then what about your parents?". Jake scoffed, as if she had known nothing, "They're cool. I have three cats at home". Hailey smiled, "Thanks, idiot" she ruffled his hair like a child.
Enzo jumped onto Jake's face, drool dripping and his tail wagging excitedly. Jake cursed himself mentally, knowing exactly what was going to happen back at home. He had no cats. And his parents were allergic.
~
In conclusion, Jake had to beg his parents to keep Enzo in the house XD
The things we do for love, am I right?
Welp—hope you enjoyed it. Not proud of this chapter, but it's not bad.
Thanks for reading, and I promise to do the '1st option'.
Again, thank you so much for the support, and for even being here.
Also, thanks, ChaimaShi, for your comment, it made me feel a lot better <3
Till next time!
