Zurich

Footsteps echoed through the dark wet streets. They were hasted since the man was running. The rain poured down like there would be no tomorrow. The air is muggy,  stuffy from the current summer storm.

Satoru couldn't care less about that. The rain never touched him. The darkness didn't affect his sight. All he could think of now was finding (Y/N). It had been only some seconds that he didn't pay attention to her in the bar, but that was all it took for her to disappear, to be taken.

'How could I make her the bait. What kind of an idiotic plan was that?'

This should have been an easy mission for him and (Y/N). It should have been a mission where she would see he was trustworthy, that he kept his promises, that he could keep her safe. But as it looked like, that wasn't the case.

'I will kill them all if they hurt her.'

With that thought in mind, the sorcerer continued his desperate run.

*** Two days earlier ***

"Have you ever been to Zurich?" Satoru's smile couldn't be any wider as he leaned closer to (Y/N), clearly trying to annoy her.

"No." Said the woman short and dry.

Gojo had been very talkative the last hours. During the whole flight to be more precise. At first, the ex-bartender appreciated it. It felt almost as if nothing had happened between them, that they could just be silly together without having any second intention, without a plan to deceive one another.

But, at one point, she became tired and wanted to sleep and Satoru just continued to talk. Since she didn't talk back, he started a conversation with the other passengers, even playing games with the kids...

"Zurich, although not the capital, it's the biggest city in Switzerland..." Continued the white-haired man in a 'know it all' voice.

(Y/N) leaned her forehead against the train window, trying to mute out Gojo's irritating voice. She usually liked to hear him rambling about something, but not right now. Not with the headache, she was having.

"Hey (Y/N), are you listening?"

The woman had dozed off and was startled with Satoru shaking her lightly. "Hum?"

"This is our stop. We need to get out."

The train stopped in an underground station with black and white tiles. The pair took the escalator up to the next floor to find themselves in what seemed more like an underground mall avenue than a train station.

People rushed by as Gojo took his time to find the right way. (Y/N) followed slightly behind since curiosity took the better of her. Forgotten wad the headache as she let her adventure spirit take over.

Curious she looked at the different shops, took in the different smells, and tried to understand the different languages she heard as people rushed by.

Gojo noticed she was staying behind, so he slowed down.

"I see you finally waking up?" He teased her.

"Don't know what you talking about." Forcing her face to stay neutral to not give the man any reason to tease her more, she quickly changed the subject.

"I thought on official missions there would be a representative to pick us up at the airport?"

"Yes, usually there is, but I ignored him."

(Y/N) needed some seconds to process the information. "Whaaa? So there was someone waiting for us at the airport with a car and you preferred taking the train?"

"Of course. I want to see the city first before beginning to work."

Gojo's smile was contagious, so all the woman could do was shake her head in disbelief while smiling too. She had forgotten how fun Satoru could be. They left their bags in the lockers at the train station and went exploring the city.

They started their exploration at one of the most expensive streets there is, the Bahnhofstrasse. From jewelry stores to high fashion ones, they did some window-shopping while walking in the direction of the lake at the end of the street.

"How many missions would you need to do to buy that Rolex?" When (Y/N) didn't get an answer, she looked up to the man questioning.

"Well, let's say that a special grade sorcerer is expensive..." And with that, Satoru walked away.

"Wait, what do you mean by that? Is... Don't say this mission would be enough to buy that watch? How much will I gain?"

"Oh, look at that dress. Isn't it beautiful? I'm sure it would look gorgeous on you."

"No, that doesn't work. I want to know how much I'll earn in this mission."

With an arm over her shoulder, Satoru pulled her next to him and whispered in her ear.

"Just imagine me taking it off of you."

His velvet voice and his breath tickling her neck made her shiver, but at least she maintained her composure. In a playful manner, she pulled him away.

"If you don't want to say how much I'm going to be paid, fine, but don't make me wish for something I can't get."

Turning to face (Y/N), the sorcerer got closer to her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Baby, if you want me you just have to say."

With a victorious smile, the woman turned him down and walked away.

"I wasn't talking about you. I meant the dress. Have you seen the price?"

It looked like they couldn't just go one without teasing each other.

Merry Christmas to all.

Sorry for taking so long to update, I was completely blocked. I couldn't focus on writing, and it didn't help that I'm obsessing with something else... With this short chapter, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still working on this story. I just need more time to write than usual.

Hope you are all healthy 😗
