Today I got up with everyone else. I put on a long sleeved crop top with a ribcage image on the front and bones down the sleeves, mirroring my anatomy. I slip into a pair of gray jeans, black vans, and a Corpse Husband beanie. I leave my hair as is and clip on a pant chain. Bridgette and I walk down to the beach to meet up with our team.

"Oh my god, Sarah! You won't believe what I found this morning!" Bridgette says to me while we wait for Chris.

I look at her, confused, "What did you find?" I ask.

"It was underneath my-" Bridgette starts, but Chris walks over and starts talking.

"Bass, Gophers, today's challenge is a true summer camp experience. A canoe trip. You'll be paddling your canoes across the lake to Boney Island!" Chris says in a dramatic voice, "When you get there, you must portage your canoes to the other side of the island. Which is about a two-hour hike through treacherous dense jungle," He explains.

"We gotta pour what?" Geoff asks.

"Portage," Chris says. Geoff still has a blank look on his face, "Dude, walk with your canoe,"

"Oh," Geoff says.

"When you arrive at the other end of the island, you'll build a rescue fire that will be judged by me. The first team to paddle home and return to their canoes to the beach is the winner of invincibility. Move campers! Move!" Chris yells at us. We all run for the beach, "Oh, wait! One more thing I should mention!" Chris stops us, "Legend has it if you take anything off the island, you'll be cursed forever," Chris says in a spooky voice, then it thunders.

"Yeah! A cursed island! Woooo!" Owen cheers.

Everyone stares at him silently. I've never seen someone so excited to go to a cursed island.

"Now, get in your canoes, and let's have some fun!" Chris says.

"Yes!" Owen says as we walk to the canoes.

"Okay, you have to be my partner," Bridgette says to me.

"Do I have to? I was going to ask Duncan," I tease her. Of course, I'm going to go with her, she asked me first, and well, I've been spending more time with Duncan than her.

"Sarahhhhh," She whines as we reach the canoes. She looks behind me and starts flicking her eyes around nervously. She starts waving, "Courtney! Come partner with us!" I stare at her like she's crazy. I turn to see Geoff put his hand down and frown as Courtney walks past him, waving.

"Are you serious Bri! Her of all people." I say.

"Sorry, I panicked," She sighs.

"What happened between you and Geoff?" I question, whispering to her.

"I'll tell you once we're out on the water," she replies.

Courtney smirks at me as she joins us. I roll my eyes and do my best to ignore her as we get our life vests on. We get into the canoe, Bridgette in the front, me in the middle, and Courtney in the back.

"On your marks! Get set! Paddle!" Chris says, shooting off a gun.

After we paddle out, Bridgette turns around and starts talking to me.

"Oh my god! Sarah, it was so bad! I came back from brushing my teeth, and I noticed something bulging under my covers. When I lifted them, there it was!" She says.

Geoff had given her a picture frame piggy bank thing that had both of their pictures in it. I mean, at least he's trying.

"No!" Courtney gasps.
