We left right after Valerio did. Vincenzo said that he saw his shadow under the door, so we kept on talking until he left.
"Come on, Emma. You get on my shoulders and go out of the vent," Vincenzo says.
"What? There's no vent!" I frown, looking around.
Vincenzo sighs from across the room and points to the vent above me.
"You mean I have to go up there?" I fidget in my seat, unable to do more than squirm.
"Yes," he says.
I shake my head. "No. Nope. No way! I can't go up there! And besides, how are we meant to get out of these ropes?" I gesture to my bound arms and feet.
He chuckles and lifts his arms up. He's not tied up.
"Wha- How?" I stutter.
He walks over to me and unties my ropes too, then shows me his knife.
"Oh," I mutter.
He gestures for me to get onto his back and I comply, suddenly forgetting my fears.
I start climbing up through the vent, looking for any way to escape.
