Chp. 7 - Search and Terror

Chloe nervously searched for Megan in the innovation center's lobby. The Texan was able to spot the young CEO immediately.

"Chloe!"

The dread headed woman looked her way before rushing over. Megan saw the desperate look in her eyes and did her best to catch her before they collided.

"I need you," Chloe said breathlessly.

The statement caught Megan a little off guard, but she tried to keep her cool.

"What's up?" she asked.

"My sister and niece are out in the Valley. Please...if anything happens to them..."

Megan led Chloe away from the crowd.

"When's the last time you saw them?" she asked.

"Earlier this afternoon," Chloe answered. "Before I met with Masrani. I think they were heading to lunch."

"Okay...I can find a wrangler out back. We'll go to the Valley and see if we can get to them before the Indominus does."

Chloe nodded before following Megan. Meanwhile, out in the jungle, Halle and Aniya cruise along to try and find the "sick" animal. Both ladies had their eyes peeled as they watched their surroundings.

"Ankylosaurus!" the teenager exclaimed.

"That's correct," Halle smiled. "Four of them...and they all seem very healthy, which is good. Believe it or not, they've been having some of the most trouble health-wise for a while."

"Weak immune system?"

"Only with the little ones."

Suddenly, Halle slammed on the breaks of the GyroSphere, her and Aniya eyeing the reflection of a massive face. Halle's eyebrows furrowed before silently urging her niece to keep absolutely still.

"That looks nothing like any dinosaur I've read about," Aniya whispered. "What is that thing?"

"I have no idea..." Halle replied, "...but whatever it is, it's not a plant lover..."

The menacing face turned out to be that of the Indominus Rex, releasing a mighty roar that panicked Halle and Aniya as it loomed over them. Halle slammed her foot on the gas, causing the GyroSphere to zoom past the other dinosaurs and away from the predator. The giant animal charged after them before one of the Ankylosaurs stands to bellow against the Indominus. The hybrid roared back before running towards it. Meanwhile, Halle grabbed the GyroSphere's handle and pulled it sideways to try and steer clear of the fight that was about to happen. Doing so, however, caused the two ladies to get caught in the line of fire of the dino's tail as it swung at the Indominus. They were now upside down, getting a front row seat of the hybrid snapping her foe's neck. Halle heard Aniya's cry and held her hand, rubbing her knuckles in the process.

"Are we safe in here?" she asked the dread headed woman.

"We're safer in here then we'd be out there," Halle said truthfully.

The two suddenly heard a familiar ringtone. Halle looked down and saw that her sister was calling her. She desperately reached for it before Aniya shoved her, seeing the hybrid staring at them.

"Auntie..." she warned, "...look..."

Halle did so and froze at the sight of the Indominus Rex eyeing them. It then roared in their face before stabbing a claw into the glass of the GyroSphere, pulling it downwards so the girls would face her. She growled before letting out another roar, placing her jaws onto the GyroSphere and chomping down. Her teeth punctured the glass.
