"I need you to make some food," She smirked a bit, this was clearly going to be her revenge for almost getting the bottles of wine from earlier dropped on her. Darek sighed heavily. "And what do you need?" He said in defeat, knowing Lyn wouldn't budge and they'd be arguing until another co-worker stopped them. "Some Mozzarella Sticks and Quesadillas, I'd suggest two Quesadillas and about five Sticks." She hummed, barely noticing how she took charge with the order. She didn't really think about it when she did this, though a few had picked up on it, they didn't mind considering Lyn was pretty nice about it. While getting the order ready, she prepared the drink for the customer, but was stopped by a coworker. "Lyn, this came in for you." Lyn, confused now, had taken the letter, watching the deliverer walk off and continue his own job. Staring down at the letter, she slowly began to gently tear off the golden rose seal. Inside was a paper, it looked a little old and faded. Maybe this mystery sender just liked vintage things? This had piqued her interest and she was quick to pull the letter out, carefully unfolding it to read what this message was.

"Dear Lyn, this may come as a surprise to you seeing as how you don't know me, though I've been one of the many customers coming in. Yes, this is a weird request, though I would very much like you to come to one of the ceremonies going on at the Church on Saturday. It will be a ball, wear something of your choice, I hope to see you there." Reading over the letter, Lyn was surprised to say the least, she didn't expect anything of the sort like this to be what she got. She thought it was just a friend or something since she had two different addresses. Her home address and work, mainly for deliveries. But this? She didn't see it coming at all. Though, interested as she was, she was going to check with one of her friends before deciding to go if it was really a good idea to meet up with this person. It was going to be crowded, right? She thought it'd be safe enough seeing how many people will possibly be there. Though what made her a little suspicious was that there was no signature of the sort, maybe she was paranoid but she thought that was off. Either way, she ignored that looming feeling of anxiety and decided she'd think more about it after her shift had ended. Folding the letter back up, she moved it into her pocket and continued on taking orders.
After a few hours had passed, it was around six, both Lyn and Darek had already gotten their stuff and changed. Pulling the letter from earlier out of her pocket, she handed it to Darek. He looked at it in confusion then Lyn, about to question though went silent as he saw her expression. He hesitated for a moment before taking the letter to read it. It was silent for a while before the sound of Darek talking had echoed in the room, "I think you should go. Lyn.. You haven't been out with anyone but friends since.. Well, you know what I mean." And she did, she knew exactly what Darek meant. Lyn's previous lover had cheated on her after being with her for close to three years, he supposedly had been going behind her back and had cheated multiple times. After that, she had entirely closed herself off to friends and family most of the way, though she still talked to them, but it was clear she was torn up about the situation. Darek did his best to not bring it up, though he had to this time to remind Lyn that she needed to get over it, he knew she'd need help doing so and this was possibly a good opportunity for that. There was a clear hesitation in Lyn's gaze before she let out a sigh, taking the letter back. "I'll think about it.." She said softly, her eyes focused on the floor as she knew exactly what Darek's face would read. 'Accept it now.' She didn't know if she was ready for that yet, and maybe this was just a friendly encounter, nothing romantic about it! They could've had this situation all wrong.
