Definitely all wrong, though how could Lyn predict that? Maybe the night would go well, maybe this letter was a prank and she was going to be stood up, she didn't know at all aside from she had nothing better to do other than go and meet this sender. With a sigh of defeat, she looked at the folded up letter before Darek. "Fine, I'll go." His eyes almost instantly lit up as he smiled and chuckled in accomplishment to convince Lyn to go to what he believed would be one of the best nights of his friends life. "Finally you accept, come on! Saturday is tomorrow, we need to find you an outfit today!" Before she could protest, her wrist was already grabbed. Darek had made up his mind. When it came to things like this, Lyn knew she couldn't argue with him and change his mind with it. Just like with earlier, her revenge for the wine, Darek knew he couldn't argue with that when he was in the wrong. And now, it was being reversed on her. Darek had the opportunity to dress her up for a special occasion and he wasn't going to let it slide, he was a bit like a mother in that way. Grabbing her bag, she stumbled along with Darek's harsh pull out of the room and into the front where most coworkers were cleaning up. Some bid them farewell, others simply ignored and continued on with what they were doing. Darek could care less and barely uttered a reply as he tugged Lyn along with him like best friends rushing to the mall on a Sunday for new clothes. This technically was, in a perspective. They were going out to get Lyn a new outfit just for tomorrow. She didn't see the big deal on why this had to happen, though maybe she was just dense, maybe Darek was too into this and over prepared for simple situations. However, as she thought about it, Darek had a point to be so excited and wanting to dress her up nicely for this occasion. It was a ball after all, she was pretty sure most of the people or possibly all, would look ridiculously formal. Lyn didn't want to be the one who looked like she pulled something from her closet and came to something so formal with something not so formal on, so, she didn't put up much of a fight when Darek pulled her out of the building and onto the street. In truth, she was glad to have a friend like Darek there to help her out, she was sure she'd have died from embarrassment at the ball, though some of her believed she still would even if she looked pretty. Pushing that thought from her mind, she kept a clear focus on what they were doing, buying an outfit for her. Shivering in the cold, her now free arm went to grip at her other arm as her eyes landed on Darek. He didn't even look cold in the slightest! Then again, sometimes she questioned how Darek was always warm, or used to the cold, she never asked before. "Darek.. How come you're so excited about this?" Though instead of asking about what random question was on her mind, she asked a different one that related to what they were doing instead of seeming weird for randomly asking something like, 'Hey Darek! How come you're always so warm while I'm over here freezing to death? I'm really envious of you.' No way was she going to say that, she always wanted to refrain from saying things that'd make her seem weird, bizarre, out of the ordinary. What people would consider to be put in the psych ward.
With a frown, she continued on walking beside her friend that was now glancing down at her, seeing her cheeks to be a rosy complexion along with her nose. "God Lyn, you've lived here for what, five years and you're still not used to this cold?" He chuckled, rolling his eyes in amusement. Lyn furrowed her brows and hit at the males arm, "Shut up! I just.. I'm not used to it, okay!" She yelled out to him in retort to his comment, clearly not taking the joke too lightly. She was usually defensive over her flaws and Darek knew that, it was mainly the reason why he teased her so much about them. Though seeing Lyn visibly upset and uncomfortable, Darek let out a sigh of guilt and wrapped an arm around her neck, gently pulling her closer. "There. Is that better? I'm not giving up my jacket, just so you know." Lyn lifted her head, seeming to contemplate something before she smiled and pulled on the jacket, definitely in a better mood now. "And what if I just take it? I deserve as much for you being so rude to me." She huffed in a playful manner, Darek smiled. "Good thing the bar isn't too far from the town, right? We're almost there." As Darek announced this, a small shop had come into sight, a clothing store. Lyn smiled a bit as a small warmth of excitement moved throughout her body, seeming to radiate as her steps had become faster. Grabbing hold of Darek's hand, she pulled him toward the shop, she knew there would be warmth inside and desperately wanted in. "Come on, come on!" She yelped out, quickly rushing toward the door with Darek behind her.
