Coldness had set in before an aching throbbing in her head, radiating throughout her skull. That was what awoke her, the pain. As images of last night played through her head, she was quick to sit up and look around in a cold-swept panic, though to her delight, she was still in her apartment with no signs of the person from last night still being in her apartment. That was a relief at least, she needed that after the two events from last night. Though now, she wasn't as worried about what happened at the dance, more however on who broke into her apartment and attacked her. The reasonable decision would be to call the police, though she had nothing for evidence that would help. No cameras, nothing stolen, only her being attacked and left in her apartment after passing out. She felt a sense of dread from that, this person could come back at any time and finish her off, if that was even the guy's intentions. To kill her, she didn't know. Repeating everything that happened, she thought about what he said. "Do you want to play with me?" A game? She couldn't comprehend last night what it meant, she still couldn't now. A game.. She didn't know. Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud knocking, her heart instantly slamming against her chest as fear and anxiety built up, it was luckily knocked down once she heard Darek's voice. "Lyn? What's up? I saw you weren't in this morning for your shift and you weren't answering my calls!" With a smile, she got up from the floor in the kitchen and walked over to the door, opening it to be met with a face full of concern. Darek. She was happy to see he rushed over once concerned, though this meant he was missing his afternoon shift. "Sorry.. My alarm didn't go off and I accidentally slept in." It was a lie, but what was she supposed to say? 'Oh yeah, I was attacked last night by this weirdo in a mask!' No way, she wouldn't be able to say that, at least not now. She didn't want to worry Darek anymore than she already had. Though he clearly saw through her lies, he didn't decide to push it and only assumed she was nervous over last night with Kagekao.
"Anyways.. Are you coming in today?" He tilted his head in question, though Lyn seemed off in her own world as thoughts raced. Could she even afford to leave her apartment? Her paranoia was getting the best of her, though Darek gladly pulled her out. He had picked up on her actions whenever something was bothering her, he read in between the lines and could sometimes think exactly what was going on in her head. He assumed she was avoiding something by staying home, kind of close to what she was thinking though not exactly on point. "Lyn, come on. Working will get your mind off of it, besides, you can't have any more days off or you'll start getting a low payment." Lyn frowned at this announcement, however she knew what Darek said was true. She had missed quite a bit of work a few weeks ago and had to make up for it now. With a heavy sigh, she lifted her hands up in defeat as though she was caught doing a crime. "Fine.. Fine, you got me. I'll go." Besides, if it was a problem going on with Kagekao, Darek could help. He could also pick up on the signs quite quickly that it was something from last night at the ball, though he didn't see what she was upset about. From what he saw, everything went perfectly last night between her and Kagekao. So, what was it? This feeling of not knowing and being helpless to comfort her made him pretty upset, though he didn't want to push it and her away from his worry. With a soft smile, Darek had grabbed Lyn's hand. "Okay.. If you can get through the day, I promise to take you shopping or anywhere else you'd like to go. Alright?" That cheered her up a little bit as a small smile appeared on her lips and she nodded. "If you take me shopping you'll be broke in a matter of seconds." She laughed, Darek rolled his eyes in response and smiled as he led her out of her apartment with a bit of hope that he could cheer his friend up.
