Chapter 20: Reflekta

Of course Hawkmoth gets to her first. I internally groan as I go to put my suit on. It's ridiculous how Overpowered he is. The only way to cut off his power is to make sure everyone is happy 24/7. I complain. I swing back to the school, knowing that akumatised victims hold grudges against the people who upset them in the first place.

Upon arrival I can't help but let my jaw drop. The akumatised Jules is making everyone look exactly like her. Everyone wearing a pink like that is practically hurting my retinas. I drop down to her level just as Chat appears and traps her in a metal hoop. Before I can do anything however, she breaks free, transforming him too. Seemingly satisfied, she goes around a searches for Chloe next. "I didn't know you were into cross dressing stripper boy." I laugh, landing next to him.

"Very funny." He says plainly. "Oh come on Chat, I'm just playing around." I say, smiling widely. I look around for any sign of Mari, hoping that she'll arrive soon if she hasn't already. "Has Ladybug joined your little costume party?" I ask, not seeing her around. "I haven't seen her yet." He responds, looking around too. "I guess that means she hasn't gotten here..."

Suddenly he grabs my arm and sets off inside, struggling with his heels. "Uhh... what are you doing?" I question as he busts through a door. "If you want your faces back, listen to me. Ever heard of safety in numbers?" He asks the people in the room.

We collect a good amount of look-alikes and head back out, to see Ladybug struggling. Took her a minute. "Time to face-off. Catch her!" Chat calls to his doppelganger army. However, she gets away pretty easily. "I guess the attack of the clones plan didn't really work..." I say to no one in particular. I turn around to see people begging Ladybug for help. Seeing the look on her face when she notices Chat is something I will cherish forever. We split off from the others, I assume to make a game plan.

"Chat Noir, is that really you?" She asks in disbelief. Chat, being his arrogant self, says she should be able to tell by his 'swagger'. "Uh- I... don't know what to say." At that point I can't contain my laughter.

"What are you gonna do? Throw your shoe at her? I need to find Reflekta. You'd just slow me down." Ladybug says.The fuck did I miss?

"He might not have his powers but that doesn't mean he's useless." I chime in, despite not really knowing what's going on. "I- right." She responds before grabbing his waist. "Where're we going?" He asks before she swings off with him.

How can something be this gay and yet so straight at the same time? I think before going after them.

"Is it just me, or do we end up here a lot?" I ask once we finish our little broadcast. "I don't think we're here that often." LB counters as we head up the stairs. Seconds later the door bursts open, and in comes Juleka. Quick to react, Lady wraps her with her yo-yo.

"The akuma has to be in her bracelet." Chat says from the other staircase. I jump down and break it, but nothing comes out. "This isn't the real one." I say to them. "I'm sorry. She promised to turn me back if I tricked you." The Reflekta whines. "Mayor Bourgeois?" LB questions, just as my sense goes off. I grab Lady and move us out of the way just as a beam of light is shot towards where we were standing.

"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug shouts, a dotted camera falls into her hands. "Don't worry LB that won't be necessary." She's about to say something but stops once I shoot a web at Reflekta, pinning her against the wall. The heroes just stare at me blankly as I approach the akumatised Juleka and break her bracelet.

"What?" I ask, looking back at them. Ladybug joins me to de-evilise the akuma, still silent.

"Why don't you do that every time?" The cat asks me, surprised. I think about it for a moment. Why don't I do that every time?

"Because i don't really know how this works. Everything goes back to normal when Ladybug throws her lucky charm in the air right? So what happens if she never summons it in the first place? How would things go back to normal?" They both look at each other then turn back to me, just blinking. "I..." LB trails off and goes silent again before finishing her thought.

"I guess you have a point..." she admits, i smile. "Of course i do. I couldn't pawssibly endanger Paris like that." I laugh as Ladybug groans at the horrible pun. A beeping noise comes from her earrings, meaning she has to go. Chat and I say goodbye before she swings off, and i help up Juleka. "You should go back to school. Your friends will be worried." I say politely when she lets go of my hand.

I turn back to the cat to see him just looking at me.

"You alright there Chat?" I ask, feeling kind of awkward and self-conscious.  He smiles and shakes his head a little before answering "Yeah. Don't worry about me." As soon as he finishes talking, his ring beeps. Signaling that he, too, needs to go.

"See you later M'lady."

"Not if I see you first M'Lord."
