Dear Shaman,
There is a certain level of responsibility that comes with our link to the other side. Nourish that relationship with the dead, but stay away from the dark. Stay in control, always.
With time, you'll understand the benefits of the shaman's life. You'll be able to see the ones you've lost, the dears you miss. Always remember the chance you have, and never misuse it.
Don't seek them. That's the first rule. Let the dead come to you.
Make one with everything, with the wind, the earth, with water, and fire, with all the beautiful lives surrounding you. That's where they wait; that's how they'll know who you are.
I always thought my mistake had been to be so open about it. And I guess that one of my pieces of advice to you would be to keep this to yourself, to trust no one.
But in retrospect, my mistake had been to let the darkness in, to fall in love with a demon. That's when it all crumbled, when I lost my bearings, the grasp I had on everything.
That's how I got to this point, that in-between.
And that's my last piece of advice to you, new shaman. Stay away from what you desire, for once darkness finds its way in, there is no light strong enough to push it back out, and evil spirits will take control of your life.
