My eyes adjust to the rays of light shining through the cubed room, how could we be here. I take a step forward and inch my way to the frame of the door, it's a small town surrounded by great green forests. I step outside the door frame and the door slams upward shut behind me, I jump at the boom it causes. We live in such a big city that stretches so far a lot of us civilians haven't seen beautiful forests like this, I've had the luck to see it once when my family went on a trip to the mountains, but this seemed so much more lush and fresh. Its beautiful but so quiet, too quiet it makes me wary. I study my surroundings, there are 5 small houses scattered in a space right beside what looks like a small 1950's strip mall that looked to only have 3 or 4 stores, and an old diner right before the bush line across the strip mall, then beside the diner a rusted children's park, then there are 10 neatly placed cubes behind me, positioned in a semi circle. I study the cubes, each of them have lights on them, there were 3 different colours, five of them had red lights, two had purple and three had green including mine. I came to the conclusion that green meant they also chose to play the game. I wasn't sure what the others meant, frankly I didn't care that much, all I know is there are two others out there. I didn't know where to start looking or walking, there aren't many buildings but there must be tons of doors, I don't even know what type of door I'm looking for. I stroll along a dirt road into the town, everything is dead quite except the wind creating a howling noise, the wind also shook the trees which made a loud rustling sound. I stop at the rusted park and step to an old merry go round, it squeaked a horrible noise as soon as I stepped foot on it, I decided to continue looking on to other things. I walk towards the diner, I was starving, still no signs of life though, I was hoping that there would at least be food there, even if I had to make it myself. The wind picked up and suddenly the sky was no longer bright and blue, it was now grey and cloudy, the wind blew so strongly I was almost knocked over. It started pouring and I was soon drenched, my clothes clung to my body and it felt so uncomfortable as I ran for one of the store doors in the strip mall, that was the closet building to me. I yanked the door open and hustled inside, I was in a clothing store, how ironic, but clothes don't satisfy my hunger for food. My stomach growled and I felt a pain erupt in my stomach, I was starving and thirsty. Water, I think of ice cold water, waterfalls, beaches and the waves, rain pouring down, rain! It's raining hard outside I could get water that way I just have to find a container big enough to collect it, how could I almost miss that. I search the dusty 1950's looking woman's department store, there frilly skirts and dresses hanging from wall to wall everything feels so cramped and creepy...it felt as the manikins were staring at you. Especially with barley any light in here due to the storm. After ten minutes of searching I find a metal bucket, how convenient. It's amazing the rain was still coming down hard. I fumble and trip on racks and pieces of clothing that fell on the floor, I make it to the door and I stare out the glass and what I see makes my heart pound with adrenaline, I don't if I should run and hide or be a hero. There was a boy on the ground, crawling his way blindly in the rain. It looked like he couldn't see due to the mud that covered his face and body. I open the door place the bucket down outside it and water starts to fill it instantly, I take a deep breath and fasten my jacket hood to my head and charge through the door. Rain and hail hit me like bebe gun pellets, it felt so painful, now I understand why he's crawling, but I keep running, he's almost in my reach. I need allies, I'm going to save him.
