TW: MENTIONS OF SUICIDE AND SELF HARM

Once they left and Suk-hyun sat far away from his wife, Eunjoo asked a question we all have been wondering but didn't have the balls to ask because we worried it would be too personal.

"So what really happened to your parents?"

Y/N sighed and sat down at her desk.

"My mother had a stalker from the university she taught at and one day, when he found out she was married, he killed my dad. When my mom found him dead she gave me Chaeyoung to hold and look out the bedroom window at the night sky. When I finally felt the confidence to turn back around maybe three minutes later... she had slashed her wrists. No note to me or anything. She just left us on our own."

"How old were you?" I asked.

"13." She responded.

"We lived with my aunt and uncle until they died two years later from heroin overdosage, it was almost like some fucked up heroin-addict Notebook ending where they died in each others arms. Then we lived with my dads step brother who was a total whore and drank too much. He would touch me and Chaeyoung and as soon as I could, I got away from him. I did some things I'm not proud off but... I did what was needed to protect Chaeyoung." Y/N sighed.

"What'd you do?" Jin-ok leaned in.

"..."

"You killed him didn't you." Sang-wook said.

Still no response yet her silence was response enough.

"YOU KILLED SOMEONE?!" Jae-hwan exclaimed.

"Oh calm down!" Sang-wook scolded.

"He did things and I just wanted her to forget about him so I moved us away and made it look like a natural cause."

"How'd you do it?" Sang-wook asked, taking the final puff of his cigarette.

"I stole potassium from my school chemistry lab and used a needle we would've just on frog brain to inject the perfect amount under his tongue after he was passed out from alcohol. Because-"

"The mouth heals the fastest and potassium would make it seem like a heart attack from alcohol poisoning." Sang-wook finished. "We all do things we aren't proud of, but sometimes those bad things we do... are for a greater purpose. I think he deserved to die if he did stuff to you and your baby sister. You'd do anything for family, I'd do the same."

"No one missed him." Y/N mumbled.

"As it should be." I mumbled and she smiled slightly at me.

After they came back Eun-hyuk began his negotiations with them to get them to come live of the first floor with us. They said they could help up on this floor by delivering weapons via the elevator like Y/N did when she was known as 'the girl unseen' but Eun-hyuk just brought up the strength in numbers.

That was really his only argument. They didn't seem convinced until Eun-hyuk brought up one point. "Would you want to be responsible for our deaths? Knowing you could've helped us and protected us?"

They paused and looked at each other.

"Do you have a safe place for Chaeyoung?" Y/N asked.

"Yes we all sleep in the daycare because its farthest from the front door-"

"We take first watch at night, let's start packing the stuff we need." Binna said after they looked at each other with glances I didn't understand.

We took their pillows and mattresses down for beds and me and Du-sik and Y/N moved her desk of equipment for building advanced weapons down to the front office. The rest of us helped move their food and survival supplies into the store/kitchen.

I actually got to talking with Y/N and got to know her life story.

Obviously her parents died when she was 13 and she worked three jobs to support her, her sister, and even her guardians with bills a bit. She went to school half online and had a 98% if not 99%-100% average in all classes. She graduated at 16 because she skipped 3rd and 7th grade.

She moved here two months ago and did it to get away from her issues on the complete other side of town.

We ended up bonding a bit. I think we actually became good friends.

At supper I grabbed her a dish and with Ji-su and went to check on her in her work space. She had on a hoodie and some leggings. She didn't hear us and we looked over her shoulder and when I looked at her wrists I saw cut marks and her knuckles were raw with teeth bite marks on the edges.

"Y/N?" Ji-su called and Y/N panicked and rolled down her sleeves into paws over her hands. I set down her dish and we ate in silence until Ji-su spoke up.

"When did you start?"

Y/N just sighed and put down her dish, "When I was 13 and my parents died. I saw it released my moms stress and pain so I tried it too but I knew I couldn't leave Chaeyoung like this so I sought out the temporary relief. I stopped when I turned 16, I thought I was an adult now so I realized everything and just thought Chaeyoung would be so disappointed in me... so I stopped."

"You really love Chaeyoung, it's so sweet." I smiled weakly.

"She's my only family, I don't want her to live the life I did so I'm trying my best."

Ji-su sighed and spoke, "That's all we can really do."
