"She is so pretty!", Ria's lips curl into an amused 'O' as Sayani turns her mobile towards her.
On her screen is a picture of Tasha, taken in the beach last year when they all were spending a weekend together. Tasha looks absolutely breathtaking in her floral bikini top and skirt coupled with some sea-shell jewellery and her natural, heartwarming smile. The very smile first Kiwi and then everyone else in the family fell in love with. Sayani can't retain her smile at the bemused face of Ria.
"Your sister has got a really hot wife, no homo!", Ria raises her hands smirking at Sayani who bursts out into a giggle.
"I understand where you are coming from", Sayani puts her mobile back in her pocket, "Peach is an amazing woman. People irrespective of gender or sexual preferences just can't help but fall in love with that pure smile of hers. I have known her for over six years now. She is the most intriguing personality I have ever seen beside Kiwi."
"Peach? Kiwi?", Ria raises a brow.
"Ah, I didn't tell you about our weird family tradition of naming all the kids over fruits, did I?", Sayani chuckles, "We all have fruity petnames. Mine is Cherry. Satyavati got named Kiwi and...", Sayani points towards her mobile inside her pocket, "Mom has been calling Tasha her Peach baby from day one."
"You are getting me even more interested in your family than I already am", Ria rests her elbows on the table and places her face on her palms eyeing Sayani lovingly.
Sayani's cheeks instantly catches a hot pink shade. Ria is really close to her now. She can smell the fresh lime and mint crusher she has been drinking in her breath up this close. The scent is somehow intoxicating.
Sayani's eyes roam down from Ria's engaging chocolate brown eyes to her luscious lips. The pink lipstick has almost been removed by how many times Ria has wiped her mouth with the tissue after the burger. The naked pair of thick lips look warm and inviting. Sayani tries to avert her gaze just as a dirty thought flashes in her mind.
But it's already too late. Ria has already caught her longing staring at her lips. She leans closer to Sayani as her lips curl into a cute smile, "Would I get a cute petname too if you ever invite me in your place?"
Ria's voice is low, almost like a soothing hum. Sayani snaps back to reality from her trance. Her forehead is already sweaty. She pressed her legs together tightly realizing how evident the lump in her loin looks under the table.
'Shit! What was I thinking? We barely know each other', Sayani scolds herself mentally. She knows a romantic dinner date at a restaurant is the worst place and time to get horny over a girl that she has been seeing for a little above four months now.
Even though Ria knows about Sayani's identity as an intersex person it still doesn't change the fact that they hadn't ever talked about sex. Their relationship has been platonic from the beginning. It's been years since Sayani been into a relationship. She is not a casual hook-ups or one-night-stand person. Being into women and making them understand that she is an intersex person, not exactly a man or a woman is kinda hard. Besides modern dating is mostly about hook-ups anyway. For a forty-four year old intersex person finding a partner that actually wants to connect and consider a serious relationship is an almost impossible bet.
Sayani met Ria into one of her colleague's housewarming party. Even though Ria is a young woman, twenty-four to be precise and completely out of Sayani's league, or so Sayani thought, Ria took interest in Sayani and asked for her number. The rest just fell into place and the two soon started dating.
Ria, an out and proud lesbian, has been living alone from last two years after she broke all connections with her homophobic family and moved out of her parents' house. Sayani is practically the first person she met who's not interested in taking advantage of how love starved she is and ask for sex outright. That's not the love Ria is looking for. She wants something more legit. She is a family person and how enthusiastically Sayani talks about her supportive family always gets to her. It's just four months and Ria has never met Sayani's family but she feels like she knows them all dearly just from the stories she gets to hear from the girl she is head over heels for. Yes! She knows Sayani is the right one. She doesn't know the girl fully yet, still her hunch keeps telling her she is the one.
Out of all of Sayani's stories, Ria gets the most intrigued by the tales of her older sister Satyavati and her wife Tasha. Though she doesn't know the whole details of how they met and how their relationship blew up into marriage but the fact that Satyavati is sixty-three now and Tasha about as old as her makes Ria curious to dig deeper into their story.
"It's getting late", Sayani somehow straightens herself up and says averting her gaze from Ria's electrifying eyes, "Come on, I will drop you home."
"Y-yeah....It's late I guess..", Ria sighs taking a peek at her wristwatch, "You need to head home too..", Ria looks longingly towards Sayani. She really doesn't wanna let her go. It's not been long but she has fallen head over heels for this older woman. She can't quite explain the attraction she feels towards Sayani. It's not like any fleeting crush or ear burning heat she has ever felt for any other woman. It's deeper, warmer, more comfortable. She feels like she can keep listening to Sayani for hours without break. Everytime Sayani says goodbye Ria feels her heart churning in a pain that she can't quite explain.
"You okay?", Sayani looks back at Ria surprised at her saddening expression.
"Yeah...All fine", Ria gets up from her chair, hangs her bag on her shoulder and starts walking away.
Sayani rushes to Ria's side and grabs her hand tightly. Ria cranks her neck. Her deep brown eyes met Sayani's faded grey ones.
"D-do you....want me to stay over? Movies? In case you are not sleepy", Sayani blurts out what she wants to do. She doesn't want to admit it either but deep down she knows she has been looking for excuses to spend more time with Ria. A guilty feeling has constantly been pricking her conscious whenever she is reminded of how young Ria is but then she remembers How Kiwi and Peach has made it work. What your heart desires cannot be controlled like this.
"You won't mind staying over?", Ria's face instantly lights up, "What about your family?"
"I will message Peach that I'm staying over", Sayani winks.
"Then...", Ria locks her arm with Sayani and eagerly says, "No movies tonight. You have to tell me how your sister won Tasha."
"It's more like Peach won her", Sayani chuckles, "Let's go home first. You are in for a long story tonight."
