It had been a week since Satyavati last talked to Tasha. The younger girl had been avoiding her like plague after that evening in the Dojo. Satyavati was initially too embarrassed to go and apologise to Tasha for her behaviour.
Satyavati knew she had completely abandoned Tasha in the past few days. She also knew that Tasha always understood when she needed space and respected her privacy. Even after listening to millions of stories about her family and being really eager to meet her mother and sister Tasha never once asked Satyavati to introduce her to the family after Satyavati mentioned during a conversation that she didn't like to take everyone home. It was only for special friends.
Satyavati knew Tasha was worried after she didn't contact her or replied to any of her text for days. Tasha didn't want to be a bother, that's why she never called. She patiently waited for a response and finally getting none, decided to pay her a surprise visit in the place where Satyavati was most likely to be. She didn't deserve to be in the receiving end of Satyavati's wrath.
Satyavati later analysed her own behaviour and got surprised when she couldn't find a logic behind why she got so mad on the young girl. It was a shocking surprise to find her in the common room unusually dolled up like she was about to go out or something but it sure wasn't that big a crime for Satyavati to scare her like that. Then why did she get so mad for? Was it over-protectiveness for the girl? Was it her fear that she would get hurt being around others? Or was it jealousy?
That evening when Satyavati entered the common room Tasha was laughing wholeheartedly grabbing Gina's arm. Gina was winking at her with a flirty smile. Tasha's buttery cheeks a deep shade of pink caught Satyavati's attention at first. Then she felt a sudden pang of irritation at the sight of how close Tasha was standing to Gina or how tightly she was grabbing her arm.
Satyavati didn't want to admit it but she was more irritated at the sight of Tasha being cozy with others at the Dojo behind her back rather than the fact that she broke the stupid rule. It had been five years, Tasha had grown to be a strong fighter. There was no longer the fear of her getting hurt by anyone. Satyavati knew she could trust her friends around Tasha.
The more Satyavati kept wondering the more she started getting confused. Why would Tasha being friendly with anyone else make her uncomfortable? Tasha was not a kid anymore. She didn't need Satyavati's watchful eyes on her 24x7. She was capable enough to take care of herself.
The fact that Tasha had completely stopped talking to her after that day wasn't helping Satyavati sort her feelings out either.
Tasha had been coming to the self defense class with her friends and leaving with them after class, giving Satyavati no chance of approaching her. They had always stayed professional within the school premises before. Satyavati didn't want anybody to bully Tasha calling her the teacher's pet by showing affection.
Tasha was also not answering her calls or texts since that day. Satyavati, too ashamed to say sorry directly finally apologised through texts after a couple days. She couldn't take how Tasha was avoiding her anymore. She couldn't find an answer to why her heart was getting so restless without Tasha.
Sure Tasha had been a big part of her life from the past five years, but the ache she felt looking at those sullen lips of hers, or those hurt eyes everytime their gaze met in the class was not natural. It resembled nothing Satyavati felt in decades.
