"Come on. How can I not recognise her after she tried to eye-strip you so desperately in the cafe!", Dahlia tried to convince Tasha as the later girl made a facial gesture for Dahlia to keep shut.
But it was already too late. The words were told and Tasha didn't even have to look back to tell Satyavati was pissed.
"I don't think I get you", Satyavati put her half finished bowl of ice-cream down and frowned at Dahlia.
"Babe", Tasha touched Satyavati's hand to calm her down but one look at her face and she knew it was futile. The older woman's muscles had hardened, her blue eyes intently looking at Dahlia as if they could pierce through her heart and learn the truth.
"You are scaring her", Tasha put one of her small hands on Satyavati's chest and hushed her.
"I-I'm sorry...", Dahlia uncomfortably shifted in her seat and looked guiltily at Tasha, "I didn't think you will keep silent about her to your family."
"Keep silent about who exactly?", Satyavati's muscles loosened, her voice softened a little. She realized she was in real scaring Dahlia who had no fault.
Dahlia shot Tasha a meaningful glance and told Satyavati about their first encounter with the woman in the cafe two weeks back.
"Imagine how surprised I was when I saw her outside the Uni gate this afternoon when I stepped outside. She was leaning on a car parked out of the gate. It kinda looked like she was waiting for someone", Dahlia exclaimed excitedly.
"Did you notice who she was waiting for?", Satyavati enquired.
"Unfortunately not. Gina came to pick me up shortly and I left", Dahlia scratched her head.
"Why didn't you mention anything to me? I could have had a word with her", Gina punched the sofa as she clenched her teeth.
"Mention what?", Dahlia gasped as the sofa trembled with the impact of Gina's punch, "That I see a stranger who was checking out my friend in the cafe a couple weeks back? And what you could probably go and tell her?"
Gina just growled inside her throat.
"Seriously girls. You need to chill", Tasha sighed, "I have something to say too."
All eyes turned to Tasha as she cleared her throat and retold the encounter in the park that morning.
Satyavati groaned in frustration, "Are you kidding me? She met you twice. Even approached you and you were waiting for a third encounter before telling me?"
"I know I'm at fault here. I won't argue. You can scold me as much as you want. I'm sorry. I just thought that it could have been a coincidence. I didn't mean to bother you for a false alarm."
