no longer rewritten :D!

Charlotte's hands held the pencil in her hands gently, eyes flickering between her page and the view of the outside world from the inn. Her luggage was laid down onto the tatami floor, open and reorganised whilst her veiled hat and weapons were placed next to them.

It had been a week since she had arrived in this particular town, which was two villages over from the town she was in ー the town she had lived in with Gin. The time she had spent away from the place where it occurred totalled around 16 days now, having spent the first week or so navigating maps and travelling farther away from where she could potentially be recognised.

She had already decided to move forward with all she had and to continue on. So now, what she needed the most, was a plan.

As she drew the scenery outside, the towering tree in the garden with frost covering the tips of the bare branches. As if it were frozen in time, the only colours visible being the brown from the wood and the white of the snow. It was winter after all. A world of white awaited her outside, away from the warm comfort of the room.

She didn't know whether the sight was tempting or giving off warning signals to her brain.

What should I do... Charlotte pondered, fiddling the pencil in her hands as she ran her finger along the outer edge of the paper that had been untouched by the graphite.

"What to do..." She murmured to herself before ripping a scrap piece of paper from the back of one of her ringed notebooks and doing the only thing she knew how to do when trying to come up with ideas: brainstorm.

Current year: 1917

Year of Final Battle: 1927

10 years until the showdown between the upper moons and the demon slayer corps... Charlotte sighed, tired. Not once has she stopped worrying about what she was going to do from now on. She couldn't just live in a single inn for 9 years, nor could she buy a house as a 7-year-old probably wouldn't be allowed to purchase land and property.

Charlotte thought for a moment. Tanjiro was born in 1912, which means that he is around the age of 5 right now. It'll be around 8 years until his family is killed.

She grimaces.

After his family, sans Nezuko, is killed, he trains under Urokodaki for 2 years until he's 15 before he enters the final selection.

Ah.

Ah.

Charlotte smacks her head in frustration, jutting out her lower lip as she lets out a hiss. I'm such an idiot.

Tanjiro wasn't 15 when they defeated Muzan! Charlotte didn't know whether she should laugh or cry. He was 15 when he passed the final selection and joined the Demon Slayer corps!

This meant that she had calculated wrong.

Charlotte groaned as she erased the number 1927 and replaced it with 1929.

In reality, she had more time than she thought she had.

This was the issue with how Charlotte was relying on memories in her head. The more she thought about the information she needed, the more she doubted its reliability. She didn't know for sure that the details were accurate, for all she knew, she could have remembered Tanjiro's birth year wrong or remembered the age at which he joined the Demon Slayer corps wrong. She didn't need everything to be 100% exact, but she needed it to be roughly correct so that she didn't accidentally miss out on an event that she could help in.
