"STEVE?" IRINA QUESTIONED.

"Irina. Uh, your mom said you were here." Steve said as Dustin shoved through and pulled the door open wider.

"Steve! Perfect, I'm so glad you're here." Dustin gasped and grabbed Irina's arm, pulling her outside and closing the door behind them.

"Do you still have that bat?" He asked Steve.

"Bat? What bat?" Steve asked.

"The one with the nails." Dustin elaborated.

"Why?" Steve asked.

"I'll explain it on the way." Dustin said, making his way down the driveway to Steve's car.

"Now?" Steve asked.

"Now!" Dustin demanded and Irina and Steve sped down to the car.

"What's going on?" Steve whispered to Irina as they approached his car.

"It is a very long story." Irina replied as Dustin climbed into the passenger seat.

"Hey, hey, hey. What're you doing? No kids in the front seat. Get in the back, dipshit." Steve said.

"But Irina isn't 18 yet so she's technically still a kid." Dustin protested. She was almost 18. Only eight days to go until her birthday - which was on the 10th of November.

"Yeah, but she's closer than you, so move it." Steve ordered and Dustin rolled his eyes but reluctantly climbed in the back seat. Irina and Steve got in the front and he began driving. They needed to get the bat from his house, since it would provide much more protection than the hockey stick that was previously used.

Although, Irina had picked up a little something from her house in the meantime. Of course, herself and Svetlana were cautious and needed protection, so they had guns. Irina had tucked one into the back of her jeans just incase. She knew how to use it. Very well in fact. She'd been using them since the age of about 11. She just hoped she didn't have to end up firing any shots.

"Wait a sec, how big?" Steve asked after a moment of silence once Dustin had finished explaining their situation. They had gotten the bat from Steve's house, which Irina was a little shocked at how big it was. He had a pool and everything. But now they were on their way back to Dustin's house.

"First he was like that," Dustin gestured with his fingers, "now he's like this." He finished, gesturing a much bigger gap with his hands as Steve watched through the rear view mirror.

"Jesus, I swear to God, man, it's just some little lizard." Steve groaned.

"It's not a lizard!" Dustin protested.

"He is right, it's not a lizard." Irina agreed.

"His face opened up and he ate my cat! Irina had to use a hockey stick to smack him into my cellar!" Dustin exclaimed. Steve cocked an eyebrow and nodded, not being able to argue with the explanation.

They pulled back up onto Dustin's driveway and the three of them hopped out of the car. Steve opened the trunk while Dustin handed him a torch and Irina grabbed the key to the padlock they had used from her pocket. The trio approached the cellar doors and Steve poked at it gently with the bat.

"I don't hear shit." Steve said.

"He's in there." Dustin told him. Steve prodded at the doors a little harder but their was still no sound.

"Okay, I swear, kid, if this is just some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead. I'm sure Irina doesn't appreciate being dragged into it either." Steve said, shining the torch in Dustin's face.

"It's not a prank!" Dustin protested. "Get that outta my face." He added, referring to the torch.

Irina pulled the key out of her pocket and unlocked the padlock, and slinging the chain to one side. She pulled open one door while Steve pulled open the other and Dustin shone the torch down into the cellar. There was no movement whatsoever. Steve took the torch from Dustin and shone it down a little further, but there was still nothing. Irina thought it was quite obvious that it wasn't down there, so she stood up from where they were all crouching and started down the steps.

"Woah, hey, hey, what're you doing?" Steve stopped her, grasping her arm, gently.

"Going to see if it's still down there." She replied, as if it was obvious.

"Yeah, well, not on your own." Steve said, standing up and joining her on the steps. He rolled up his jacket sleeves and overtook Irina. She held back a little chuckle at Steve's attempt to look tough. It just made him look cute.

"I'll stay up here incase he tries to... escape." Dustin mumbled. Steve sighed at him and Irina went down all the steps, cautiously. Irina pulled on the rusty light switch, letting a dim glow fill the room. It wasn't the best light, but it was enough to see the damage done. Steve lifted a large chunk of shedded, slimy skin off the floor with the bat, wincing at the sight of it.

"Ew." Irina grimaced.

"Damn right." Steve added, but then something caught Irina's eye.

"Боже мой (oh my god)." She mumbled, catching Steve's attention.

"What?" He asked, cluelessly.

"Look." She said, pointing to a corner of the room. There was a large hole in the wall that appeared to be some sort of tunnel dug by Dart.

"Holy shit." Steve muttered, shining the torch down it.

"You still think it's a lizard?" Irina cocked a brow at Steve.

"Yeah, maybe you were right." Steve admitted.

"Maybe." Irina smirked, standing up and going to the bottom of the steps. Steve watched her and shook his head with a slight smile on his lips.

"Dustin, come look at this." She called up to Dustin, who made his way down the steps and crouched besides Steve, looking at the tunnel in awe.

"No way." He gasped. Now all they had to do was figure out a way to lure Dart back and get rid of him. It took a little... debate, but the trio decided on a plan. They would get a shit tonne of meat and lure him to the old junkyard where they would've had more protection from the old cars and scrap there. They also needed gasoline, a lighter and, of course, Steve's bat. Irina just hoped that Svetlana didn't find out what she was up to.
After all this hiding and keeping on the low for Irina to just go right into more danger associated with another lab. But she couldn't just leave it. She had to help.
