Meredith woke up around 10:30 am the next morning. She lay in bed, letting her eyes adjust to the soft sunlight shining into the room in small rays from between the curtains that hung over her bedroom window.

She got up a couple of minutes later, before heading to her wardrobe, grabbing some clothes and heading to the bathroom. She got a shower and washed her hair.

Afterwards, she dried her hair, done her makeup and got dressed.

Afterwards, she headed downstairs to the kitchen and greeted her mom, Laura. "Hey sweetie."

"Hey mom!"
"What's got you all dressed up?"
"Cliff and the boys are in town, so I'm going to see them with a friend."
"A new friend?"
"Yeah!"
"A boy friend?"
"Maybe."

Laura laughed. "Who is he?" She asked and Meredith smiled to herself and she made some coffee. "Chuck Schuldiner." She said.

Laura nodded. "I've heard that name before... I think one of your brothers friends went into some show in one of the bars downtown and Chuck was there." She explained and Meredith nodded.

"I wouldn't be shocked. Chuck is in a band." She said and Laura smiled. "Metal and all that jazz that you like?" She asked and Meredith nodded happily. "That's nice, dear. It's great that there's someone now your own age who likes the same things. Just be careful." She said.

"I will, mom. He'll be here soon." Meredith said and Laura nodded. "That's okay!"

"Do you want more coffee."
"No thanks love."
"Alright!"

Meredith headed to her living room to watch some TV whilst she waited for Chuck to arrive. She petted her dog, Leo, who was laying in front of the couch, half asleep. She turned on the TV and began watching Seinfeld.

About twenty minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Meredith smiled to herself before getting up and heading to the front door, taking a deep breath before answering it.

Chuck was standing there, a small smile on his face. "Hey!" He said and Meredith smiled. "Hey! How are you?" She asked as the two shared a hug. "I'm great, you?" Chuck asked and Meredith nodded. "I'm good." She said and stood aside so he could come in.

"You look amazing." Chuck said as Meredith shut the door, causing her to blush.

"Th-Thank you... so do you." She said and Chuck smiled with a small laugh. "Thanks!" He said.

"I just gotta grab my keys, and then we can go. Come with me!" Meredith said and Chuck done as he was told as she walked to the kitchen.

"Mom, Chuck's here. We're going now!" She said. Laura looked up from the newspaper she was reading. "That's no problem, drive safe! Hello Chuck!!" She said.

"Hello Mrs. Lee, how are you?" Chuck asked and Laura smiled. "I'm very well, thank you. How are you?" She asked and Chuck nodded. "Pretty good, thank you!" He said.

Meredith grabbed her keys before hugging her mom and saying goodbye. "Let's go!" Meredith said and Chuck nodded.

"Alright! It was nice meeting you, Mrs. Lee!" Chuck said and Laura smiled. "Call me Laura, son. I'll walk you to the door." She said and Chuck smiled and nodded as she walked him and Meredith to the door.

They went out and got into Merediths car, and twenty minutes later, the were pulling up outside the studio where Metallica were recording their second album: Ride The Lightning.

As they pulled up, Chuck noticed a tall man with long red hair standing outside the door of the studio, smoking a cigarette. He was wearing denim bell bottom jeans, boots, fingerless gloves, a Misfits shirt and a denim jacket.
