AJ's P.O.V.
I end up standing there not knowing what to do next when out of the blue I feel a pair of arms wrap around my shoulders. Immediately, I feel my whole body stiffen up. After a couple of seconds I realize that is Autumn that is the one hugging me. Hesitantly I slowly wrap my arms around her, not knowing what else to do.
I finally was able to release some of the tension in my shoulders and relax. A minute into the hug, I feel another pair of arms around me and Autumn and automatically know that its Ayden.
Even though I just met these two strangers not even 3 hours ago, I somehow have a deep connection with them. I can't explain it but it's like they were meant to someway be in my life. Whether it was just for this small moment in life or just by some miracle they end up in my life another way.
Our hug came to an end and we gave each other a small caring smile. Autumn gave my hand a small squeeze and then they both turned around and left. A small part of me kind of broke ad I watched them leave, knowing I won't see them again.
I let out a deep sigh and instead of sitting back down, I without being noticed headed up the stairs to my room. As I go up the stairs I just let my mind go blank, it's easier than thinking of all the things that I don't want to think about. I get to my door, open it and walk through it just to shut it behind me.
I must have been here awhile cause the next thing I know there is a small knock on the door. I tell whoever it is on the other side to come in. I look up to see that it was Abby that knocked.
"Hey kiddo, what's up?" I say giving her a smile, hoping not to show any of the emotions that are swirling around my head.
"I seen you come up earlier and haven't seen you come back down so I came to let you know that dinner is ready." She says. I look over at the cheap alarm clock that is next to my bed and sure enough, it's 6:05pm.
"Ok thanks Abby." I say getting up from the sitting position that I was in on my bed and follow her out of my room, closing the door behind me and heading downstairs for dinner before it's eaten all by the other kids.
We get to the dining room and find a couple seats that are empty at the table. I sit down and start putting food on the plat that is on the table in front of me. I'm about half way done with my plate when Miss. Jones walks through the doorway and started walking in my direction.
The fist that came to my mind was what did I do this time. I always seem to do something wrong in her eyes, I don't know if its just cause I'm the oldest or she just hates me that much . I swallow the food in my mouth just as she gets to me.
"Come to my office when you're done eating." Was all she says then she turns around and heads back out without another glance. I didn't get to say anything so I just sat there, all of the confusion apparent on my face. I look over at Abby, who is sitting across from me and all she does is shrug her shoulders and goes back to eating her food.
